Privacy Concerns Over Google On the Rise In Germany |

An anonymous reader writes "After protests from several sources, major
German news site [0]Spiegel Online has dropped Google Analytics. 'Google
gathers so much detailed information about its users that one critic says
some state intelligence bureaus look "like child protection services" in
comparison,' they say. Spiegel Online no longer uses Google Analytics.
'We want to ensure that data on our users' browsing patterns don't leave
our site,' says Wolfgang Büchner, one of Spiegel Online's two chief
editors." The article covers a wide swath of German concern over Google's
data-collecting and -handling policies, including a local rebellion
against Google's Street View survey vehicles that threatens to go
national.

Why Netbooks Will Soon Cost $99
| from the act-now-while-supplies-last dept. |

[0]CWmike sends along a ComputerWorld piece which predicts that "netbooks
like the Asus Eee PC, the Dell Mini 9 and the HP 2133 Mini-Note [1]will
soon cost as little as $99. The catch? You'll need to commit to a
two-year mobile broadband contract. The low cost will come courtesy of a
subsidy identical to the one you already get with your cell phone. It's
likely that HP is working with AT&T (they're reported to be talking),
which announced a major strategic shift a couple of weeks ago that should
result in AT&T stores [2]selling nonphone gadgets that can take advantage
of mobile broadband, including netbooks. What's more interesting is that
low income and cheapskate buyers are [1]starting to use iPhones as
replacements or substitutes for netbook, notebook and even desktop PCs.
The author's take: A very large number of people are increasingly looking
to buy a single device - or, at least, subscribe to a single wireless
account - for all their computing and communications needs, and at the
lowest possible price."

Making Your Mark On The Web For Free!

Now Comes The Fine Print.

Okay, I got your attention with the free talk didn't I. Well, it worked on me also. I was networking on Facebook last week and came across an ad for a free website address and thought, "Let's just see how 'free' this is!" I clicked on the ad and started to sift through the homepage of the company and realized this is no gimmick. They really are giving away a free website with a simple enrollment application. Then I began looking for the section to give them my preciously guarded credit card or bank account information. THERE WAS NO SUCH SECTION! Now I grew VERY skeptical.

My next round of investigative work took me to the many features offered by this claim. I saw a homepage with a place for intro text and a photo. Then I saw a section where you can upload videos, photos, a product page, a services provided page, a contact page where you can customize an email box, even directions with an interactive street map to your place of business! Is this a dream for the small business owner wanting to start out on the web or what?

Single Pages For Anything You Want

You Customize Them Yourself

Another useful feature is the ability to create a different page or site for each "something" you want to promote. Real Estate Agents will love this since they are able to feature a different property on each site so they can get a funneled response to only that property.

Come On, How Can It Be Really Free?

Here's the gist of it. The folks at NetNeon.com have started a site building process that uses templates and unlimited pages, and as many sites as you want to build, for the small business that needs to enter the Web 2.0 world. Even if you don't know much about computers you can easily design your site with basic info about your business and what you have to offer.

Now for the explanation of a free site. NetNeon.com uses advertisers that only apply to your selected area of business or interest. If you are in landscaping, you probably won't have an ad on your site pertaining to the latest BMW SUV, although you may want one someday. The BMW that is, not the ad. It is really incredible how much content you can add to these sites. As stated earlier, you have an unlimited number of pages to showcase your business and you pay nothing! You can also brag about other businesses and in turn have them give you a boost on their site. Affiliate Marketing, anyone?

So you doubt this is a valid way to go? What are you looking at right now? A pre-built, free, ad-sponsored article-based website that you can create traffic from and achieve success on Google, right?

How about a look at an example site. Check This Out! The site has a lot of deleted pages and contents we don't need, so you will be able to add whatever YOU need to yours. P.S. This is a fully functional site so feel free to click on any links included.

DATED SEP 11, 2008 I'LL NEVER FORGET THE DAY
I remember I was working night shift and woke up to Bryant Gumbel talking on the radio about a plane crashing into the WTC. I turned on the TV and there I sat the rest of the day until I went to work at 4pm.

The images were terrible and gut wrenching to say the least. The smoke, the flames, the dust covered people, the crying, the agony on the faces of loved ones wondering if their families and friends made it out. I remember feeling too sad to listen to a certain song on the radio for 2 years. It was a country song by Diamond Rio entitled "One More Day". All I could think about was those left behind wishing they could spend just one more day with the ones they lost.

It makes you realize how special someone is when you lose them or almost lose them. Sometimes we take for granted all the blessings we have when they are at our fingertips. I hope we never forget the togetherness we all felt in this great nation as we recovered from the worst single day in America thus far. I can't help but wonder if our complacency has returned and we have become lax in our daily lives once again. Do we really appreciate one another for who we are? Is there a way to recapture the solidarity as a nation divided by man-made religion, political affiliation, those that have money and those who don't? Can we really ever come together for good with GOD's help, regardless of who we vote for or how much money we have? I pray that we can all do something for someone, be something to someone, and/or give something for someone each day and in turn, maybe, just maybe, change our world. GOD Bless.

OTHER "FREE" SITES
Have you looked at other sites that offer "free" marketing sites or web pages? Maybe you set up your free site with your domain name purchase. I'm setting that up right now and letting my followers choose which one they like best. So far, I'm leaning toward NetNeon but I haven't published the new one to the web yet. I have noticed that I only get 5 pages with my domain site. NetNeon gives unlimited pages and unlimited sites. FOR FREE! I feel a new lense coming on! Stay tuned.

Free Website? Yeah, Right! Yeah, Right! Really!

NetNeon.com doesn't even know I'm doing this.

Try it out then come back here and comment. Or voice your doubts so others can tell you how crazy you are for not trying NetNeon.com sooner!
