The disadvantages first 

For the brave who can take the bad with the good

  • The promotion page is clinical (but very informative) and
  • There are no personal testimonials on the landing page
  • You only get 19 out of 41 features available (typical, I always want more)
  • A relatively few email addresses for a business (but probably plenty for personal use, only 5)
  • Their business model sounds too good to be true (providing free hosting services, with no ads since 2007, made possible by paid hosting services and upgrades, as well as donations from the community of users)
  • A one off connection error that was fixed by turning off my modem for a while and waiting for a new IP address from my ISP
  • The lack of compassion from Support, when I was keen to get answers about my website, yesterday. They only gave minimal help (as they said they would on the sign up agreement)
  • The irritating and helpful message that shows up on your website while they check to prevent for spam and other nasties that unethical owners try to put on their websites

  • Reliable webhosting (my sites haven't gone down at all since I started)
  • Being able to bring your domain name over for free or to use their free sub domain names
  • A simple site builder and website templates
  • Freedom to create your own website design using an FTP account
  • Automated backups (once a week) or manual backups any time
  • Great webmail service
  • 10 autoinstallers for add-on forums and sites
  • Support for inline HTML such as iframe code and java scripting (important if you want to create affiliate product landing pages)
  • The ability to handle PHP and mySQL databases
  • They respond to support desk requests even though they don't have to
  • They enforce their sound anti-spam and anti-phishing policy
  • The community forum is active and you can find answers to help fix problems yourself, if you are not a premium member

In short, my experience indicates that the advantages of using 000webhost.com outweigh the disadvantages.

I have found that their free plan provides better value than any other free web hosting alternative and many webhosting sites that you pay for.

    Hello Pukeko, If I remember right, one of my websites was slow to start with too, but in the end it came good. I just used Word to make one website and the website wizard for the others.
    Some suggestions I might make:
    - reboot your modem (this fixed a problem I had),
    - try creating the site on another free server and
    - try the helpdesk.
    I'd be interested to know how you progress.

    Hi, I just wrote my first webpage with dreamweaver. I uploaded it to your recommended host and it is painfully slow. I noticed your sites are quick. Any suggestions for what I might have done wrong. My site is not that big, a flash panel on page 1 and one photo and one line of text on the other pages (for now)
