Introducing Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly

Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly is the supreme solo project from the Essex artist that is Sam Duckworth. The project was formed in 2004 and over the course of the past four years; two studio albums have been released and an EP also.

This is my page dedicated to the man and his wonderful acoustic indie/electronica music. Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly is a great artist and that's why I've taken the time to create this page; the music is absolutely exceptional and I highly recommend that you take a listen to his music for yourselves and hear what this wonderfully talented artist has to offer with his supremely well crafted acoustic sound. Read on to find out more about the highly talented Essex artist that is Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly.

The Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly Story

Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly is the artist name of Sam Duckworth (Slam Dunkworth); a man from Southend in Essex. He has been making music under the guise of Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly since 2004 now and has to date released two studio albums; his debut in 2006, and then the second album in 2008. Others provide backing when out on the road, strictly speaking however; Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly is the one man performance project of Sam Duckworth.

In 2005 Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly made its musical debut with the Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly EP. Four of the five tracks featured here would later be included on debut album 'The Chronicles of a Bohemian Teenager' also; it's a very strong EP and it should therefore come as no great surprise that Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly was snapped up by Atlantic Records. Atlantic obviously saw his potential, and given the strength of his EP I'm sure it was very clear to them that Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly was to be a success.

'The Chronicles of a Bohemian Teenager' was finally released in September 2006, consisting of twelve tracks; it's one that really shows the true talent of Sam Duckworth and his excellent acoustic indie sound. Every track on the album is brilliant, and with several tracks released as singles this release was very much a success.

March 2008 was the chosen month for the release of second album 'Searching for the Hows and Whys', and given the high quality of the first release it was again very clear that this album was going to be a success. One of the tracks from the second album even features Kate Nash; this shows how much the second album was being pushed and just how popular Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly had become by now.

Sam Duckworth is a very hard working artist and can often be found touring the country and showcasing his exquisitely fine music. He's a great talent and blends brilliantly his acoustic indie tones with fine electronica undertones. The music is energetic and the voice of Sam Duckworth always comes shining through in the sound. Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly is a truly talented artist from sunny Southend and always the music has very much to offer.

A trip to the Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly Myspace page truly is highly recommended; you will here be able to admire five of his finest tracks and I can assure you that it's well worth taking the time to listen as I'm sure you'll be incredibly impressed with what you hear here.

Why Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly?

So why does a man named Sam Duckworth decide to give his solo project the name of Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly? Well, apparently it comes from a ZX Spectrum magazine; the magazine had run a feature about the Batman video game providing solutions and one of the sections was given the heading of 'Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly'. The rest is history as they say and Sam Dunkworth took this odd section title with him and eventually ended up using it as the name of his solo project.

Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly is certainly a lot more exciting a name than Sam Duckworth; not that there's anything wrong with the name Sam Duckworth, and after all it does slide so well into Slam Dunkworth; Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly is still a stronger name for a musical project however and what a find it was for Sam when he read that super Spectrum article.

'The Chronicles of a Bohemian Teenager' is the debut album from Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly; it consists of twelve tracks and really is an absolutely magnificent release of music. There are many absolutely excellent tracks present here, there are a couple that are not so strong but on the whole the album truly is incredibly impressive.

The album begins powerfully with 'Once More With Feeling' and at all times the music will have you smiling and singing along. It's a lot of fun to listen to, the album is very strongly constructed and every track has been placed here to perfection. The album flows well and the acoustic flair of Sam Duckworth is always exceptional.

The song titles can be quite a mouthful at times, the music is beautiful though and it is this that really matters here. The album plays well, and the acoustic nature of the music is always excellent. I'm not always a huge fan of acoustic tracks; Sam Duckworth does the style proud however and has here put to record an absolutely incredible twelve track album of music.

The way in which GCWCF combines the two styles of acoustic indie and electronica here is always flawless; the tracks hold firm and never is there any sign of weakness. There are a couple of tracks that feel like fillers given the supreme quality of much of the album; none of the tracks are bad though and even the worst tracks that the album has to offer would still sound supremely strong were it not for the astonishing quality of the others.

'The Chronicles of a Bohemian Teenager' is an album that all should own; whatever your mood, you'll always find this album great to listen to and it's just the perfect album to sit back and relax to. If ever there was a time to coin the phrase 'Must own album' then I feel that the time is now.

With 'Searching For The Hows & Whys' - Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly carries on from where he left off with the first album; the music is of a similar style and once more the album is incredibly impressive to listen to. The music is bouncy, fun, and the listening experience is always an absolute pleasure.

The album consists of fourteen tracks and the soothing tones of Sam Duckworth here continue with another incredibly well worked and relaxing album. It's a simply stunning overall creation of music; a great album to listen to and one which comes complete with many a quality track.

It's very similar in style to the first album; if you like the tracks from the first album then you'll therefore also like the second. It's much of the same and once more here the music is always excellent. Second albums can often be quite disappointing; this is certainly not something that is true of the second album from Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly.

If you've got an interest in acoustic indie tracks then most definitely consider giving this one a listen; it's an excellent album and well worth a place in your collection along with 'The Chronicles of a Bohemian Teenager'.
