Once upon a time,

before the mass production of food, drinks and sugar, people don't have to worry about getting fat. Modern diseases like obesity, hypertension and cancers were rare.

At present, finding an obese person is easier than playing "spot the not". Obesity is so common, who would even think about getting female abs?

What we all need to do, is to reverse the effect civilization has done to our health. Not only it gets you leaner and closer to getting your female abs, it also gives you lots of energy.

1. Avoid junk/processed food.

Junk food contains all ingredients to make you fat, gives you cancer and robs you of energy. They contain lots of sugar, sodium and food preservatives and flavoring. Consume them as little as sanely possible.

3. Eat protein with every meal.

Protein are necessary to build enzyme, hormones, repairs tissue and muscle etc. Consume protein every meal to stay lean and healthy. Protein can be obtained from: Nuts, eggs, poultry, bacon, beef etc.

You should eat fruits and vegetable to provide your body with vitamins and minerals. They also contain lots of fiber which regulates the bowel function. Addsome broccoli, lettuce, eggplant, berries, banana or apple to you meals.

5. Consume healthy fats.

Your body needs fat to function. Fat is important for the health of nervous system. It also keeps you full longer and is a source of energy. Consume your fat from olive oil, coconut oil, mixed nuts etc.

6. Drink lots of water.
Water might be cheap, but it helps fat loss more than you think. Bring a water bottle with you and drink whenever you feel a slight thirst.
7. Avoid sugar.

Sugar are empty calories that doesn't provide any nutritional value. What's more, it suppresses the immune system and also makes you feel lethargic. A lot of people doesn't realize that they are addicted to sugar, just like being addicted to smoking. For your health and aesthetics, consume as little as possible.

8. Only eat carbs on workout day.

Your body doesn't need carbs, but you don't have to avoid them like the plague. Eat them on days that you workout so they would be burned as energy instead of stored as fat. Also eat the unrefined ones like brown rice, quinoa etc.

9. Prepare and plan your meal.
Preparing your food builds good eating habits. Otherwise you would just munch whatever you can get your hands on when you are hungry.

10. Make your food delicious.
You don't need to resort to junk food to satisfy your taste buds. Healthy food can be very tasty as well. In fact I find the tastes of junk food "too aggressive" for my liking. Natural foods has a more subtle taste that I really enjoy. To improve the flavor of your food, add cinnamon, curry, turmeric, ginger, cayenne pepper or garlic etc.

11. Exercise.

Exercise is not a food, but doing it will increase your appetite and the feeling of well-being. It accelerates fat loss and should be included in everyone's lifestyle.
