- Extracurricular activities can always help when applying to med school (or any graduate school or college for that matter). This website: www.OnGiantsShoulders.org (note: .org, not .com) discusses a program which teaches (and demonstrates to admission officers) all the characteristics you mention that med schools are looking for in prospective students.
