Simple Solutions to your Candian Geese Problem
While some people love geese others despise them simply for the fact that they hate the goose droppings they leave behind. Getting rid of geese is easier than you think, but first we must get rid of some common misconceptions about getting rid of these animals. Some people believe that you can use a noise cannon to scare off geese, but these simply don't work. Others believe that you can chase the geese away and they won't come back. There are two effective yet cheap ways to eliminate a goose problem. The first way is to use decoy coyotes. Today's technology has allowed for certain companies to create imitation coyotes that are so lifelike that even humans would have a hard time distinguishing them real coyotes. The key to using these coyotes is to move them occasionally. This way the geese won't get used to seeing the predator in the same space all the time. Is it amazing to see how geese will avoid these coyotes at all costs. I have even witnessed mother geese showing their children that these coyotes are quite dangerous, and urging them to walk away in the opposite direction.
Use Goose Chase to stop your geese problem
Another effective way to get rid of geese is to use a product known as "Goose Chase". This chemical is used to treat the lawn area where you want to prevent the geese from visiting. This is an environmentally safe product that is made from concord grapes. The active ingredient that comes from the grapes is known as methyl anthranilate. When a lawn is sprayed with this chemical geese and other birds won't eat the grass. This needs to be reapplied about every two weeks.
Border Collies
If you have the time and resources you can use border collies to scare away geese. However this is not a realistic solution for many people. As caring for dogs is a job in itself. However for large corporations or other circumstances this may be a smart choice. Remember a goose can produce one to two pounds of droppings everday. So one must weight the consequences of such unsighlty waste showing up in their company or home.
