Getting Stuff For Free

OK, first off I will be up open and honest with you. I am a firm believer in the teachings of the book Think And Grow Rich. Put another way I am a firm believer in if you have a goal and really, really want something just simply by focusing on it it WILL happen either sooner or later. There is of course a little more to it than that, some call it the law of attraction, the art of allowing, deliberate creation and more of that ilk. It has been loved and loathed. Called brilliant and mumbo jumbo. Accepted and dismissed. I am not here to tell you what to do or how to think or to argue any point simply to say it worked for me, made my life easier and better and no matter what you want to call it I love it and live my life by it and if it helped me, it may be of benefit to you.

Live By Design, Not by Default

It started like this . .. . .

A few years ago I was given a piece of information, and, I am happy to report that I acted on it straight away. I was told that if you give focus on something that you desire, it will come to you.

Now, as you can not buy focus ready made in a box I will describe exactly what I mean. You know when a child gets so excited about something they have seen they are almost ready to burst with exhileration about it. THAT right there is what you need. A child-like view of getting something. Try and think of a time when you saw something and the whole of your being was so exhilerated by it that you knew it had to be in your life, you had to have yourself some of that, and you also knew that if you put your heart and soul into it, it would be, then, as expected you got it. Like a child's exited knowing that the toy in the shop WILL be theirs and by their birthday/Christmas/Grandparents feeling generous/ day, it is.

I had this feeling when I was looking for a new home. I had looked everywhere and then saw the most perfect home in the world for me at that time. I was so excited that I took photo's of it and just knew it was MY house, a week later I moved in.

My new partner and I had been in the house a few days and due to resticted finances we just did not have the money at the time for a washing machine. So I we decided that we really wanted one and knowing what we did we set forth to get one. We made up a poem, it was just meant to be for a laugh, here it is . .

We need it soon, we need it free
A washing machine for him and me
We promise truly from the start
We'll look after it with all our hearts.

We need one soon
We are not bums,
We are just at the minute short of funds.
So if you have a washing machine
That will get our clothes nice and clean
So if you are getting a new one
Need the old one re-homing
We'll pick it up without moaning.

So now we have had the chance
To thank you truly in advance.

PS We promise to feed it regularly!

The Washing Machine Searching Duo

and as a wind up I told my partner I was going to put it in the window of my car. He said that I wouldn't dare, and as I am truly a child at heart, I took him up on this and did. Now, I truly believed that something would happen, albeit someone having a laugh at the poem. The next bit of this you may think is made up but I PROMISE it is completely true, under an hour later a man was knocking at my door and told me he had seen my poem (he WAS laughing) the best bit was (and this is the best bit, and strangest) he had a SPARE washing machine fully working as he had come back from abroad and brought it with him. I (of course) accepted. The only money that exchanged hands was a donation to the Queens Own Ghurkha Logistic Regiment as it turned out that was his regiment and he had been collecting for them. I am very happy to say, that he is still safe and well and so is the washing machine!

So, to sum up I managed through my hearts felt desire, within one month to get my home AND a free washing machine. If I went on to tell you about the car you would fall off your seat, another true story though for another day.
