GTD is an abbreviation for "Getting Things Done"

It is sophisticated yet simple, flexible but won't rope you into a corner, and is infinitely manageable. It's effectiveness lies in radical common sense. You can focus clearly only with a complete and current "taking stock" of all your commitments, all organized and reviewed systematically, to learn to view your world from optimal angles and make good choices about what to do (and not do) at any given moment. What does GTD include? 

How does it work?

A capsule description from David Allen's book:

"Get everything out of your head. Decide about actions needed on stuff when it shows up - not when it blows up. Organize reminders of your projects and the next actions on them in suitable categories. Keep your system current, complete, and reviewed enough to trust your intuitive choices about what you're doing (and not doing) at any time."

It includes:

* Capturing everything that has your attention, yes everything!
* Defining "stuff" as things to take action on, with an outcome in mind, and a series of concrete next steps
* Organizing reminders and information in the most efficient way, in proper categories, based with an eye on how and when you need access
* Keeping current with "stuff" with appropriately frequent reviews of your purpose, vision, goals, areas of focus, projects, and actions

Putting GTD in action reduces the feeling of being overwhelmed, generates confidence, and releases a sunami of creative spark. It provides a framework without impediment, managing details with maximal flexibility. The system adheres to the core principles of productivity, while allowing tremendous freedom. The only way to do GTD is getting meaningful things done with truly the least amount of attention and energy.
