2. "Offsite Optimization" - This includes all the ranking factors that aren't contained on your website, and those factors are what we'll be discussing today.

*The number of websites linking to yours.
*The Google Page Rank of websites linking to yours.
*The anchor text of the links to your site.
*The number of outbound links on the website that's linking to you.

*Whether or not the website linking to yours is determined by Google to be an "authority website".
*The IP address of the websites linking to yours.
So ideally, when trying to boost your Google ranking, your strategy is to get as many high-ranking "authority" sites as possible to link to your site with anchor text that represents the keywords you want your site to rank highly for. Easier said than done, right?

Make It Easy For The Granddaddy Of Search Engines To Find Your Site
One of the most, if not the most, effective ways to get targeted FREE traffic to your website is by having your site rank well in the search engines, espeically Google. However, if your site is new, it can take weeks, even months to get your site indexed by Google, let alone to have it rank highly. Fortunately, I came across this excellent strategy by Brad Callen of SEO Elite fame, which makes getting listed in Google a much speedier process.First, do a Google search for a broad keyword related to your website. For example, if your website is meant to promote your auto mechanic business, type in "auto mechanic".
Next, look through the Google results that come up and check the Google Page Rank of each of the top sites (you can do this by going to Google and typing in "Google Pagerank Checker", since there are many sites that offer this feature. Or you could simply download and install the Google Toolbaar, which displays the pagerank of any page you view). Since Page Rank is a measure of how "important" Google considers a site to be, and more important sites are listed higher in search results, you want to make a note of sites with a Google Page Rank of 5 or better.
Once you've identified your high Page Rank sites, look around the sites and see if they have "links" pages. If they do, you'll see a "links", "resources" or "recommended sites" link on the page.
Next, look for contact information for the site owner or webmaster and contact them with an offer to place a link to their website on your website, in exchange for them linking to yours (For best results, do this with multiple high Page Rank sites). If they agree and link to your site, you've just boosted your Google Page Rank, which means your site will show up earlier in search results, which means more traffic for your website.
