Ways to Express Your Concern ...

Here are some ideas beyond "Get Well Soon" when you are signing a card, sending an email, or sending flowers to someone who is ill. A few special words can make a big difference in someone's day, and sometimes when we need the right words they seem to escape us. If you're searching for words to express your care and concern, look at the sentiments below and find something that captures your thoughts. I think you'll find that taking time to express a kindness will do you as much good as you do for someone else.

Saying I'm here for you ...

Someone remembers, someone cares;
Your name is whispered in someone's prayers.

Until the sun comes out again for you,
my umbrella is big enough for two.

"If I had a flower for everytime I thought of you,
I would walk forever in my garden"

I think about you constantly,
whether it's with my mind or my heart.

Sometimes we just need to know that people care.
If this is one of those times,
I'm one of those people!

I don't doubt that you can get through it alone,
but why should you have to?
I'm here for you just as you've always been there for me.

If knowing that someone cares
helps the healing process...
...then you should be
feeling better already.

Words of Encouragement ...

Many of these are suitable for serious illness

What lies behind us and what lies before us
are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.
~Ralph Waldo Emerson

"What the caterpillar calls the end of the world,
the master calls a butterfly."
~ Richard Bach

"When it is dark enough,
you can see the stars."
~Ralph Waldo Emerson

"The soul would have no rainbow
had the eyes no tears."
~John Vance Cheney

"If the future seems overwhelming,
remember that it comes one moment at a time."
~Beth Mende Conny

"Mishaps are like knives,
that either serve us or cut us,
as we grasp them by the blade or the handle."
~James Russell Lowell, "Cambridge Thirty Years Ago," Literary Essays

"A bend in the road is not the end of the road... unless you fail to make the turn. "

"When you come to the end of your rope, tie a knot and hang on."
~ Franklin D. Roosevelt

"I have heard there are troubles of more than one kind.
Some come from ahead and some come from behind.
But I've bought a big bat. I'm all ready you see.
Now my troubles are going to have troubles with me!"
~ Dr. Seuss

Verses For Cards ...

Sending a little sunshine
To sprinkle in your day,
Reminding you that you're thought of
In a warm and special way!

With warm wishes
This just comes to say,
That I hope you're feeling better
with each and every day.

Comfy jammies, cozy bed,
big soft pillow for your head.
Worry not, the world can wait
take your time and recuperate.

( A Verse for a card with a flower embellishment
or to include with a gift of flowers ... )
Here's a little bloom
to brighten your room,
And a little card to say
God Bless you today!

"When things go wrong as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all up hill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest if you must, but don't you quit.
Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about
When he might have won had he stuck it out;
Don't give up though the pace seems slow--
You may succeed with another blow,
Success is failure turned inside out--
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems so far;
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit--
It's when things seem worst that you must not quit."
~ Unknown

"The Lord bless you and keep you;" Numbers 6:24

"Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you." 1 Peter 5:7

"A cheerful look brings joy to the heart, and good news gives health to the bones." Proverbs 15:30

"But those who wait on the Lord Shall

Ever had one of those "that's what I should have said!" moments hours after a conversation? I'll be memorising as many of these as I can so I always have the right thing to say. Great work.
