August 1935: Delivery of the first GG-1 electric locomotives to the Pennsylvania Railroad. Probably the best-known US electric ever, the GG-1 has a center cab configuration similar to the streamlined P5a class, but is much more powerful. capable of speeds in excess of 100 mph and possessed of tremendous structural strength, the GG-1 will see use hauling passengers and freight for the next forty-three years.

IHC's GG-1 model has been available in a variety of PRR paint schemes, as well as Conrail Blue and Bicentennial schemes, Amtrak in penn Central Black and "Bloody Nose" schemes, and New Jersey Transit colors.
