I love cocktails, cocktail parties, cocktail dresses, cocktail glassware............you get the idea!

There are so many different types of cocktails that on this page I'm just going to focus on those starting with G, H & I.   cocktails such as the Gibson, Harvey Wallbanger and Icepick.

Cocktails Beginning with G

Genoa Vodka

4 parts vodka
2 parts campari
6 parts fresh orange juice

Combine all of the ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice and shake well. Pour into an old fashioned glass to serve.

Gibson

6 parts vodka
3 dashes dry vermouth
cocktail onions

Pour vodka and vermouth into a mixing glass with ice and stir well, strain into a martini glass and garnish with a couple of cocktail onions.

Gimlet

4 parts gin
1 part lime juice

Combine ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice and shake well. Strain into an old fashioned glass to serve.
Gimlet
However you like your gimlet, it kicks a hell of a punch. "Gimlet Goes Again" was a book by WE Johns that was published in the late 1940s. The character in it was named Gimlet and was a man that had to be tough and hit back hard at the enemy. Where did WE Johns get the name from? I can't help thinking that he'd had one too many gimlets and when they hit back at him he thought, "aha gimlet can be his name!"

Grasshopper

4 parts green crème de menthe
4 parts white crème de cacao
4 parts half and half

Combine all of the ingredients in a cocktail shaker with cracked ice and shake well. Strain into a martini glass to serve.

Groovy Martini

2 shots vodka
1 shot triple sec
2 shots cranberry juice
1/4 shot blackcurrant liqueur

Shake all of the ingredients together with ice. To serve, strain into a cocktail glass

Cocktails Beginning with H

Hair of the Dog

Not sure I could face it first thing in the morning, but maybe you'd like to:-

1 part Scotch whiskey
1 1/2 parts single cream
1/2 part clear honey
ice

Gently mix the whiskey, cream and honey together then pour over ice into a shot glass to serve.

Harvey Wallbanger

3 parts vodka
1 part Galliano
6 parts orange juice

The Harvey Wallbanger was first concocted in the 1950s by Donato "Duke" Antone...........How the cocktail got its name is a matter of debate.

On one side people say that a guy named Harvey existed. He was a surfer who used to patronize the Duke's Blackwatch Bar, one night after losing an important surfing contest.....

Havana Cocktail

4 parts light rum
4 parts pineapple juice
1 part fresh lemon juice

Combine all of the ingredients, with ice, in a cocktail shaker and shake well. Strain into a martini glass to serve.

Honeydew Martini

2 1/2 shots vodka
1/2 shot triple sec
1/2 shot Midori

Shake all of the ingredients together with ice, strain into a cocktail glass to serve.

Hula-Hula

4 parts gin
2 parts fresh orange juice
1 tbsp triple sec

Combine all of the ingredients into a shaker, along with ice and shake. Then strain into a cocktail glass.

Cocktails Beginning with I

Ice Pick

4 parts vodka
iced tea
lime wedge

Fill a tall glass with ice cubes, then pour vodka and iced tea into glass. Squeeze the lime wedge over the drink and drop in, then stir.

Imagination

1 shot triple sec
1 shot tequila
1 shot coconut milk
1 shot double cream

Shake all of the ingredients together with ice and strain into a cocktail glass.

Incognito

2 shots Cognac
1 1/2 shots dry vermouth
1 shot apricot brandy
3 dashes Angostura bitters

Shake all of the ingredients together with ice and then strain into a cocktail glass.

Ink Martini

2 shots gin
1/2 shot peach schnapps
1/2 shot blue curacao
2 shots cranberry juice

Shake all of the ingredients together with ice and strain into a cocktail glass.

Ixtapa

4 parts coffee liqueur
2 parts silver tequila

Put the ingredients in a mixing glass with ice and stir, then strain and pour into a martini glass to serve.
