Ghost Makeup and Face Paint for Halloween

These step by step face painting instructions apply to one side of the face only. The other side will be unpainted.

Step 1:
Sponge on pale blue face paint over one half of face and nose.

Step 2:
Using a darker blue, sponge face paint around eye area, including eye lid.

Step 3:
Sponge the dark blue face paint over central part of cheek, down center of nose and up around the edges of the forehead paint.

Step 4:
Using a deep blue, create a dark blue area on the lower cheek, upper lip and chin, taking care to blend in at edges.

Step 5:
Use white face paint on a brush to create the ghost shapes. Add their arms/wings and fill in with white face paint.

Step 6:
Use a gray (or mix black and white) face paint to create a tombstone shape at the base of each ghost.

Step 7:
Sponge on white face paint in circular motion to create a full moon on forehead, close to center line.

Step 8:
With black face paint on a fine brush, add the bats close to the moon. Outline ghosts and tombstones with the black face paint.

Step 9:
Add eyes and mouths to your ghosts! Some small V shapes on tombstones suggest writing. Smudge a little black face paint onto outer edges of the moon for shading.

Step 10:
Add white highlights to edges of ghosts and tombstones, and under bats wings.

And there you have it, fun ghost face paint that will please every little horror!

Step 1:
Using white face paint, create a mask shape over forehead and under eyes, and paint over eyebrows. Paint from outer eye towards mouth and then curve out onto chin. You really do need to watch the video and this step will become clear!

Step 2:
Fill this 'mask' in with white face paint.

Step 3:
Outline the white mask with black face paint on a brush. Create a little bridge shape above tip of nose. Join the 2 sides of mask at mouth with a straight black line over lips and out to the mask edges.

Step 4:
Now paint every part of your face that isn't white with the black face paint. this includes the eye area. Sponge on as far up your head as you dare! Applying over ears and onto neck is also optional but helps to get that Crimson Ghost look.

Step 5:
Paint the tip of nose with black face paint.

Step 6:
Make short vertical lines over top and bottom lips. Join with small curves to form teeth. Extend on lower lip further out to sides. Black out some of teeth on lower right and one on upper left.

Step 7:
Add fine black lines around mouth, nose, eyes and cheek. Add dots from bridge of nose down to mouth on either side of face.

And you're done! The Crimson Ghost face paint is complete. Go scare!
