Ghost Voices From Beyond

What is an EVP?

Sometimes voices that can not be heard with the human ear are picked up on voice recorders. These voices are called EVPs. EVP stands for electronic voice phenomena. Many people who study the paranormal think that these are the voices of spirits trying to communicate with us. In this lens I posted some of the voices I have caught in the last couple years either when I was just sitting around my house, or when I was out on an investigation.

EVP Classification

Class A - This EVP will be clearly audible, must be a clear voice, with intelligent or reactive responses, not just random noises or words. It must be audible to the human ear with no enhancements needed, no question on what the voice is saying.

Class B - Mostly audible, but maybe not totally clear, a bit hard to translate into what it is exactly saying. But must have appropriate tone and timing to question made by team member.

Class C - On these EVPs you will see frequency levels support this unexplained voice, but it may not always be very audible, may just have some small sound. Have to listen really hard to hear it. Direct response is not required. Random voices or tones apply in this category. May be very random, not in response to any question or statement.

Class D - These EVPs are usually faint breath like sounds, moans and airy sounding voices. Sometimes they are questionable because it may sound like a breath or it may sound like something sliding on the floor, hard to distinguish. May need to be backed up with other equipment such as with an EMF spike or an orb showing up on video at the time of the EVP.

First Mediums

First people to say they could communicate with the dead.

In 1948, two sisters Maggie and Kate Fox, from Hydesville, New York, began to hear noises they thought were caused by spirits. They thought they could hear a tapping noise in the walls of the house their father had just bought, and soon began to try to communicate with the spirits by snapping and tapping. Within a few years the girls were nationally known and "spiritualism" was sweeping the nation.

Before you listen to the EVPs, make sure you put on headphones. I don't have fancy equipment to enhance them so you are hearing them raw. Some you may be able to hear without headphones, but most you will need them.

EVP #1

At 6 seconds sounds like "Sis sis Donna"

This was my first time playing with my voice recorder. The noise you hear in the background is a fish tank. So sorry that kind of is distracting. I didn't realize how loud it would come out on the tape recorder. I didn't even notice hear it in the room. That's how good this voice recorder picks up sound.
This is the first EVP I ever caught. It was in my bedroom.

I would catergorize this EVP as a class C.

What did you hear, if anything?

  • veryirie Mar 9, 2012 @ 7:16 pm | delete
A repetitive background noise, followed by two "clicks" towards the end?
  • GeorgeStadalski Feb 25, 2012 @ 6:39 pm | delete
I heard a whisper at about 6 seconds. Could not make it out.

EVP #2

At 5 seconds a man's voice says "yes," then tapping begins.

Man saying "yes" then tapping.

This was caught in my bedroom.
I would catergorize this EVP as a class A.

Did you hear the "yes" and then tapping?

  • veryirie Mar 9, 2012 @ 7:17 pm | delete
    I couldn't hear the "yes". :(

EVP #3

At 2 seconds there is a voice speaking a couple words, but can't understand.

Voice

This was caught i my bedroom.
I would catergorize this EVP as a class C.

Can you understand the words?

  • veryirie Mar 9, 2012 @ 7:18 pm | delete
    No, sorry. :(

EVP #4

At 10 seconds in there is a male grunt.

Male Grunt

This was caught in my bedroom.
I would catergorize this EVP as a class C.

Did you hear the grunt?

Would this scare you?

  • veryirie Mar 9, 2012 @ 7:19 pm | delete
No, I couldn't hear it, but yes, it would probably give me the willies.

EVP #5

This one is right at the beginning so be ready. Sounds like: Warner, mourner, or warn her

Male Voice at cemetary in Lake Geneva Wi.

This is my favorite EVP.
I would catergorize this EVP as a class A or B.

What word(s) did you hear?

  • veryirie Mar 9, 2012 @ 7:20 pm | delete
    I heard the word "foreigner".
  • GeorgeStadalski Feb 25, 2012 @ 6:44 pm | delete
I could not hear the words, It sounded like a background conversation. I would have to hear more than that 2 second sound bit to get the jist of the line of questioning and make a guess.

EVP #6

This starts at one second and ends at seven."Ted, come to the light"

Voice at the scene of a suicide.

I would catergorize this EVP as a class C.

Could you hear anything? Could you make out the words?

  • veryirie Mar 9, 2012 @ 7:21 pm | delete
Just barely, I think. It seemed towards the middle of the tape?
  • GeorgeStadalski Feb 25, 2012 @ 6:45 pm | delete
I did not hear any words in that one.

EVP #7

At 11 seconds in a ladies voice saying "yes".

Listen carefully on this one, it's quiet and quick, but after I say, "Are you standing next to Kristen?" There is a women's voice that says "yes."

This was caught in the attic of a nursing home.
I would catergorize this EVP as a class C.

Did you hear the lady answer yes to Kristin's question?

  • veryirie Mar 9, 2012 @ 7:22 pm | delete
    Very, very faint.

EVP #8

At five seconds there is a female voice, right after Annie asks, are you the one scaring us at night.

What do you think this lady is saying? Is it English or another language? Listen right after Annie asks, "Are you the one that scares us at night?"

This is my second favorite EVP I have ever gotten. There's just something sad about the women's voice. This was captured in the attic of a nursing home. I think it sounds foreign. Not sure what, maybe French? This home is in a "German Camp" and was full of German and Polish patients.
I would catergorize this EVP as a class A.

What do you think the lady says? What feeling do you get from her? Was this English? Was she saying her name?

Right before Annie asked if she as the one scaring her at night, she asked what her name was.

  • veryirie Mar 9, 2012 @ 7:23 pm | delete
    The voice sounded without hope.
  • wheresthekarma Mar 9, 2012 @ 7:56 pm | delete
I know, out of all EVPS I have ever gotten, this one sticks with me and haunts me. It was the first time I also left an "investigation' feeling like I could feel the energy for at least that night. She sounds so sad, I have gone back up and gotten her voice again weeping. I try to get her to go to the light. I believe these spirits just need some direction, they are stuck in between places and just need to let go here and go towards that light.

EVP #9

At five seconds there is a little moan, a women's voice.

Moan after I say, "you don't have to be scared"

This was caught in the attic of a nursing home.
I would catergorize this EVP as a class D.

This is a really cool lens! :]
  • veryirie Mar 9, 2012 @ 7:38 pm | delete
    Yep, I heard that one!

EVP #10

At 3 and 5 seconds two little moans.

Two little moans, is she crying?

This was in the attic of the nursing home. This one is questionable. One of the girls with us has a high voice and it may be her moaning. It was hard to distinguish.
I would catergorize this EVP as a class D.

I am not sure about this one. Is this a spirit crying or is this one of our voices?

The video is below of this investigation.

    I couldn't hear it; sorry.
  • wheresthekarma Mar 9, 2012 @ 7:58 pm | delete
Some of these are so faint cuz I dont have equipment to boost them, but if you use headphones it makes it way easier to hear them. I can't hear almost any of them without headphones. But I wanted to tell you that this is the same voice (I believe) as the girl above with the sad voice. (but on a different day)

EVP # 11

Right at 1 second.

I left our two voices in there so you could hear my daughter and I talking to see it wasn't our voices. There is the 5 o'clock siren in the background but over it, you can hear a whisper. Sounds like maybe four words or so.

I'd consider this a Class C Evp. You can hear a whisper, but not make out what it's saying.

Could you hear the EVP at 1 second in?

Do you want to try to catch an EVP yourself?

I placed a recorder and a video camera out and this is what we caught.
I would catergorize this EVP as a class A.

What did ya think about this one?

Did you hear the two yells and cackle? Later the cat like screech? Did you enjoy Michael's singing?

  • GeorgeStadalski Feb 25, 2012 @ 7:05 pm | delete
The first one was pretty clear. Michael has a great voice.
  • wheresthekarma Mar 14, 2012 @ 2:13 am | delete
LOL George..he's a charactor. I dont think the ghost liked his singing very much.

Investigation in the attic at the Nursing Home.

Please put the video on Full Screen to be able to see the orbs easier.

In this investigation we caught orbs, evps, and a spirit communicated using the EMF reader. It was the first time I had all three happen in such a short period. All our equipment was drained right at the beginning and we had to recharge and put all new batteries in every single piece of equipment we had. That is how the night started off so we should of known there would be some good communication this night. This is also where I caught one of the EVPS that will always stand out in my mind. She sounds so sad. Is it English she is speaking? What do you think she is saying? What language do you think she is speaking?
Loading

What about this video? Did you see the orbs, hear the evps? What about the EMF Reader lighting up to questions?

This is probably the most activity I have seen at once. Where we caught something on all equipment.

  • veryirie Mar 9, 2012 @ 7:46 pm | delete
I watched for 6 minutes, but I was only able to see one orb.

Very interesting work! Paranormal is over and beyond what has been classified as "Normal"! I am sure that the boundaries of "Normal" will keep shifting over time when "Science" starts to "accept" things as "Normal" and "Tangible"!
  • GeorgeStadalski Feb 25, 2012 @ 6:57 pm | delete
There was no where to post under the orbs, so I am putting my comments here.
I am a sceptic when it comes to orbs. So many of them are dust, lens flares, reflections and even bugs. I have seen ones on video that move and seem to pass through solid objects, but there are just too many reasons not to believe for me. I have even heard a theory that the newer cameras have the flash positioned much closer to the lens that older cameras and this is suggested to be the reason that we are getting so many more orbs in modern times.
Great lens, thanks for posting your findings and remember that statements made above are just my opinion.
By the way, I coul not listen to all the EVPs. I had issues with lymekick.com.
  • wheresthekarma Mar 14, 2012 @ 2:22 am | delete
Thank you for stopping by this lens and for sharing your opinion. I have grown skeptical of a lot of orbs too. Not all...once I caught an orb going by an emf reader and it registered energy, I thought that was cool. in fact at the cemetary (the other lens I have) we caught an evp along with the emf and orb. Three things at once was pretty convincing something was going on.

BUt yeah, many times it is just dust, moisture in the air or moisture on the lens.. I try to point it out and let people make up their minds..but I can completely understand what you are saying, and many times agree with you.

This is the best EVP I have ever heard, it is pretty long for an EVP and the most inspiring life after death message I have ever

Caught by my friend Monica.

Here is it translated by my friend Yemaya.

"It is a great adventure. It is a great awakening to a greater world.
Truly in a spiritual way not like man depicted. Indeed this is
so so different. So tremendously light to so vibrant. So tremendously a
different world. So%uFEFF far removed from mans terrible existence of
strife. It is so beautiful.

Do not fear death.
(gets fuzzy
here)
Or whatever
condition of your life you may enter. No matter how low it will be.
It will be a reflection of your world according to its conditions.
According to your conditions about it. According to benevolence or
malevolence then it will find a condition that will apply to you."
The rest was too static filled. Thanks again Monica for sharing this & for having%uFEFF this page.

What do you see in this picture?

This was my friend Yemayas picture. She was taking a picture of her husband... I didn't know if he wanted his picture posted so I cropped out the apparition. They didn't even notice her. Someone else pointed it out to them.

What do you see in this picture?
