Tools when catching Ghosts

Mechanism
Your trap consists of two components: the mechanism, which is the gadget that is used for fixating ghosts, and the mystical or Magic Circle, which empowers the mechanism. You can buy mechanisms and magic circles in the Q-section at S.C.O.T.C.H. HQ , or you can trade them in for schematics and formulas. There are two major attributes:
- Power: The strength of your trap. In order to trap a ghost your power must be higher than the scare factor. Be aware that there will be random effects when trying to catch a ghost.
- Mystic power. Mystic power represents the chance to trap a ghost regardless of its scare factor. Some ghosts may only be caught with a high mystic power.
Magic Circle
A Magic Circle is a required component of a ghost trap, along with a Mechanism and Whisky.
To obtain a new Magic Circle, you need to either buy one from the Laboratory (formerly part of the Gear Shop) or build one from components collected in the game.
Whisky
Ghosts love Whisky. It can be bought in the S.C.O.T.C.H. HQ BAR or can be obtained from ghost loot. Some whisky brands attract rarer ghosts, some improve the power of your trap, others give you special bonuses. The fact that one whisky is more expensive than another one just means that it is different and has more exotic properties. It doesn't necessarily have to be stronger. However, there is one exception: Nessy's Golden Reserve has a very high attraction rate, will never be stolen or be affected by the Angel's Share. "Nessy's" as we call it can only be acquired by donating, thus helping to improve the game and to add new exciting features.
Angels' Share is the term for the amount of whisky which evaporates through the wood of the barrel - good whisky can be enjoyed by Men and Angels alike.
Companions and Contracts
Ghost hunting has been given a fun boost with the addition of Companions and Contracts. Each has its own specialty depending on the trap setup you are using. Companions
Companions are like ghost "pets" where in they help you in terms of boosting some of your statistics depending on the type of companion you get. These "pets" will also level-up while you hunt.Companions are obtained by incubating a Ghost Plasma on the Incubator
(Inventory->Companion Tab) for 7 days (or 5 days if you use 100 Nessy's as catalyst).

Contracts
Contracts unlike Companions, can only affect a particular type of mechanism. All contracts are divided into several parts and can only be obtained as drop loots from Castle McDougan and up. Contracts are negotiated at the "Office".(Read more about Contracts on Ghost Trappers Wiki)

Catching specific number of ghost with 72 hours or less on any area
This is a much easier mission to take since you have the freedom to catch any ghosts on any area you want to hunt to. To maximize your hunts it is better to hunt on area that would give you 90 to 100% catch rate (going back to previous areas). This is also a good time to hunt ghost from the previous areas that you have caught yet.
Catching specific number of specific Ghost on a specific area.
This type of a special mission are the hardest to achieve IF you don't have the proper trap setup or the access to the specific area. What I usually do is I usually assume that special missions will be done on area ahead of my current hunting area (e.g. if Your on hunting on McCloud assume your special mission will be on Loch Trool unless stated otherwise). Try to get yourself a good companion and a good contract that will lessen your cool down timer to go with your best trap setup. The lesser cooltime you have the more chances for you to hunt and always use cocktails when hunting on this type of special missions to minimize misses and avoid wasted baits.
