It's Party Time!
Come Around, We'll Have You For Dinner... errm Yes! a Halloween Craft Party!
Halloween Is The Greatest Time Of The Year, Everyone Loves Ghost And Goblins.
As mentioned earlier, a crafts party for kids is a seriously exciting event for children. If you want to host a great party for kids around Halloween time, you might want to consider a Halloween crafts party for kids. These kinds of parties are a great hit with parents and kids alike as the kids are kept occupied for a while and they go home with beautiful craft objects that they can decorate their homes with for the Halloween season. It is very easy to plan a Halloween crafts party and whether there are going to be ten kids or twenty kids, they will be terribly busy having an absolutely brilliant time during the party.During a Halloween crafts party, the party-goers are gathered together and are asked to make various crafts reflecting the Halloween spirit. If you are hosting the party, then you should provide all the crafts and crafting material ( in the case of edible crafts, all the ingredients). The host of the party should show the children how to make the craft and you'll soon find that the children will be glued - in a manner of speaking.
For your Halloween crafts party, you can go online to get some ideas on what crafts you can use. There are a number of websites that have a lot of information on kids' crafts. They give you step by step detailed instructions on how to make different crafts and sometimes even have
pictures of completed product.
You should have a number of different crafts for the kids so that they have enough time to make them all and everyone is kept occupied. It can be quite uncomfortable if you intend to holding a party that lasts for three hours and everyone is completed within an hour.
Edible crafts are perhaps the most popular crafts among all in Halloween craft parties. After all, who doesn't want refreshments? All you have to do is use your imagination and creativity and the kids will have a great time. So will you.

Eerie Eyeballs
Yields approximately 9 dozen bite-sized eyeballs
3 oz lemon gelatine (can be sugar-free)1 cup hot water
1/2 cup miniature marshmallows
1 cup pineapple juice
8 oz cream cheese (can be low fat/Neufchatel)
1 cup mayonnaise (can be fat-free)
What to do:
Dissolve lemon gelatine in 1 cup water in double boiler, add marshmallows and stir to melt. Remove from heat. Add pineapple juice and cream cheese. Beat until well blended. Cool slightly. Fold in mayo. If you have a truffle candy mold or round ice cube trays, pour the
mixture in the molds and leave to set in the fridge. Otherwise pour into a deep ceramic dish and chill until thickened or firm enough for
scooping into eyeballs.

Spray the rubber trays with non-stick cooking spray beforehand like you would any gelatine mold, let the gelatine mixture sit in the refrigerator to set, then carefully pop the eyeballs out to paint them.
Some of the eyeballs will break, and they do have one flat side, but that actually works, since then they don't roll around while you are trying to paint them.
Wilton truffle candy molds are even better, since the swirl design on the top is the right size for the cornea shape on the eyeball. When using the truffle molds, one recipe makes about 9 dozen eyeballs - plenty for a party crowd!
Creepy Witches' Fingers
Yield: 5 dozen
1 cup Butter, softened1 cup Icing sugar
1 Egg
1 tsp Almond extract
1 tsp Vanilla
2 2/3 cups Flour
1 tsp Baking powder
1 tsp Salt
3/4 cup Almonds, whole blanched
1 Tube red decorator gel
What to do to Gross everyone out with these creepy cookies. In a bowl, beat together butter, sugar, egg, almond extract and vanilla. Beat in flour, baking soda, and salt. Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes. Working with one quarter of the dough at a time and keeping the remainder refrigerated, roll heaping a teaspoonful of dough into a finger shape for each cookie. Press an almond firmly into 1 end for the nail. Squeeze in the center to create knuckle shape. (Accompanying picture shows long rolled shape with a bulge at the center for the knuckle; you'll puff it out rather than squeeze it in.) Using a paring knife, make slashes in several places to form the knuckle.
Place fingers on lightly greased baking sheets; bake in 325F (160C) oven for 20-25 minutes or until pale golden. Let cool for 3 minutes. Lift up the almond; squeeze red decorator gel onto nail bed and press the almond back in place, so that gel oozes out from underneath. You can also make slashes in the finger and fill them with "blood."
Remove fingers from the baking sheets and let them cool on racks. Repeat with the balance remaining dough.

Thick Sugar Cookies with Buttercream Frosting
Makes about 5-6 dozen standard-sized cookie cutter shapes.

Wilton Halloween Metal Cookie 18-Piece Cutter Set

2 1/4 cups sugar
3 eggs
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
6 cups flour
3/4 tsp. salt
4 Tbsp. milk
What to do: Divide dough in half (or sixths). Chill for 1 hour. Roll out half of dough 1/8 to 1/4 inch thick. Use greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees Fahrenheit/190 degrees Celsius for 12 minutes. These can be frosted.
Buttercream Frosting
1 1/4 cup Crisco shortening (only use Crisco)
2 lbs. powdered sugar
1 tsp salt
1/2 cup water
2 Tbsp Karo light corn syrup
1 tsp butter flavouring
1 tsp vanilla
Beat 5 to 10 minutes with a power mixer until very smooth. Water down a small amount for a crumb coat if frosting a cake. After 20 minutes (when set), frost with remainder of frosting. When set, use paper towel or typing paper to set desired surface texture. This is fluffy enough to frost easily, yet stiff enough for keeping its shape for decorating.
Jack-O-Lantern Cheese and Crackers
What you need:Your choice of cracker (Ritz is pictured)
orange cheese, preferably already sliced
a contrasting layer (You could use white cheese slices)
What you need to do:
Cut the slices of cheese into cracker-sized squares. Cut the orange cheese into jack-o-lantern shapes by hand, or use a miniature cookie
cutter if you're lucky. Lay the contrasting layer on the cracker, and then top with the jack-o-lantern slice.

Spooky Sandwiches
What You Need:sliced bread of your choice
sandwich filling of your choice
condiments of your choice
Halloween cookie cutters
What you need to do:
Make your sandwiches however you'd like, but try to have ingredients that will stick together and not fall apart after the sandwiches have been cut. The metal cookie cutters work best, since not all the plastic ones are as tall to cut through all the bread and fillings.
Decayed Corpse Chips with Entrail Salsa
(Probably not for the youngsters but a great addition for an adult party)
What you'll needLblue corn tortilla chips
coffin
salsa
What you'll need to do:
This isn't so much a recipe as it is a creative display. Arrange the blue corn chips in a coffin in the shape of a long-dead corpse. The natural
blue corn chips have almost a dusky shade of brown in them that hints of decayed skin. Serve with a nice blood-red chunky salsa as accompanying entrails.
Spooky Pasta
Makes 8 servings
16 ounces of any pasta with Halloween shapes
1 pound of ground beef
1 onion, chopped
28 ounces of homemade or store-bought (2 jars) spaghetti sauce
1/2 cup of grated Parmesan cheese
1/4 cup chopped fresh basil
What you'll need to do:
Cook pasta according to directions. Brown ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat and add onion. Saute until meat is no longer pink. Drain off fat and add spaghetti sauce. Simmer about 15 minutes. Place pasta in a serving bowl, cover with sauce, and mix. Top with grated Parmesan cheese and fresh basil.
Serve with Vampire Shields, optional
Last but not least, the kids have gotta dress the part!
