In an article published by Vegetarian Times, July, 2002, Marshall Norton, Jr., discusses ways to prevent yeast infections naturally, starting with diet and healthy lifestyles.

According to Mr. Norton, "just as an apple a day keeps the doctor away, and so does a healthy diet help keep yeast infections at bay. Yeast infections are the result of an imbalance of "good" and "bad" bacteria that thrive on the surface of moist, mucous membranes, particularly those in the intestinal tract, vaginal tract and skin folds. Although most often found in the vaginal tract, candida can also appear in the mouth as thrush, in the warm moist environment under a diaper, causing diaper rash, and other areas of the body."

Vegetarian Times reports that yeast infections may be triggered by excess weight, diabetes, antibiotics and oral contraceptives--all of which cause yeast populations to grow to abnormally high levels.

"Women who are overweight, diabetic or who take antibiotics are especially vulnerable to yeast infections," says Gerson Weiss, MD, an obstetrician and gynecologist at the New Jersey Medical School in Trenton. Excess weight, which can increase body heat, and diabetes, which can increase sugar levels in the body, create an ideal environment for candida growth. And unnecessary use of antibiotics that target the "bad" bacteria in your body also kills the "good" bacteria, allowing yeast to grow unchecked. In fact, increased use of both antibiotics and oral contraceptives is believed to be a major reason why the occurrence of yeast infections has doubled since the late 1960s", reports Mr. Norton

Definition of Candida Albicans

Candida albicans (sometimes referred to as monilia) is a fungus that is normally present on the skin and in mucous membranes such as the vagina, mouth, or rectum. The fungus also can travel through the blood stream and affect the throat, intestines, and heart valves.

Description of Candida Albicans
Candida albicans becomes an infectious agent when there is some change in the body environment that allows it to grow out of control.

What is Yeast Infection

A Yeast infection is caused by fungus when an overgrowth of the yeast contained in our bodies grows out of control. There are several different types that can be found in harmless amounts in the mouth, vagina, bowels, and on the skin. If an overgrowth of this fungus (called Candida) develops in the the body, most often it causes itching and burning in and around the vagina and on the outer parts of the female genitals, called the vulva.
Click Here To See What We Recommend To Help With Yeast Infection

Nearly 75 percent of all women will have at least one such infection in their lifetime. Many are plagued by recurring yeast infections, which are most frequent between the ages of 16 and 35. Yeast is a term for single-celled fungi. The technical name for the variety of fungus often present in the human body is candida, and the technical name for infections caused by these fungi is candidiasis. Such infections occur not only in the vagina, but also in other parts of the body in both sexes.

A woman who has had one vaginal yeast infection can usually recognize its symptoms if it recurs. And a woman who has had several infections has no doubt about what's wrong when the next yeast infection starts. Another symptom is a thick, mostly odorless discharge. But this can be misleading because discharge in and of itself is not diagnostic. If you have a white discharge with an intense irritating itch, you may have an infection. Unfortunately, many women will, in response to increased estrogen at mid-cycle and the increased production of cervical mucus, develop a white, curdy discharge. That is not a yeast infection.

While not all women experience the following symptoms of a vaginal yeast infection, it's possible to have vaginal soreness or irritation, a rash on the vulva around the vagina, pain or discomfort during intercourse, abdominal pain, soreness of the vulva or vagina, burning during urination, and even vaginal bleeding in some cases in addition to itching and discharge.

Candida

The term 'probiotic' is derived from the Greek, meaning 'for life'. Probiotics are currently defined as 'live microorganisms which, when consumed in adequate amounts, confer a health benefit to the host'(1). Common descriptions for probiotics include 'friendly', 'beneficial' or 'healthy' bacteria.

What is the FOS in ThreeLac for?

Does ThreeLac require any dietary changes?

Fructooligosaccharides (FOS) is a complex carbohydrate that acts as a food source for the probiotic organisms in ThreeLac.

No matter what kind of diet an individual prefers to eat, from no dietary changes at all to a strict anti-candida diet at the other end of the scale, ThreeLac can help if it addresses your particular candida and or fungal strains. The more "fronts" the problem is addressed on, the greater the possible benefit.

Candidiasis and Probiotics

Treating Overgrowth Naturally

Yeast Recovery Programs

In this article we will discuss the important health link of Candidiasis and Probiotics, which literally means "for live" and are most commonly referred to as friendly bacteria. When most people think of bacteria, they think of something bad-something that causes infection and illness. In reality, almost all of the time we live in harmony with bacteria which exist symbiotically with us on our skin, our mouth, in the gastrointestinal tract, the rectum and inside the female vagina. Usually, smaller numbers of the fungus, Candida, exist in these areas as well and do us no harm whatsoever.

Under certain circumstances, however, this delicate balance between us and our healthy bacteria can be disrupted. The excessive use of antibiotics, for example, can kill off the healthy bacteria throughout our system, allowing unhealthy, pathogenic (disease-causing) bacteria or Candida (which is unaffected by antibiotics) to overgrow and cause an even more serious infection than the one for which we took the antibiotics in the first place.

Other situations can cause the normal, healthy harmony we have with bacteria to get out of control. Eating a high fat, high sugar diet, consuming meat from animals raised on antibiotics, taking steroids or birth control pills, stress, having a poor immune system or ingesting anything that reduces the acidity (increases the pH) of our gastrointestinal tract can alter the number and type of organisms inhabiting our body. Under any of the above conditions, Candida, something we normally live with in a healthy way, can increase in number and change its form into an unhealthy variety that releases toxins into our bloodstream. Candida overgrowth also changes our immune function, causing it to become irritable, leading to allergic reactions.

Part of the goal in treating a fungal overgrowth, particularly an overgrowth in the intestines (also called intestinal Candidiasis), is to regain the healthy bacterial balance that existed before the disruption took place.

Recently, researchers are beginning to take a closer look at probiotics and believe that this might be the answer to recolonizing the gut and recreating a healthy spectrum of bacteria, allowing Candida to die off to an acceptable level. Science, however, is seriously lagging behind natural medicine practitioners who have used probiotic therapy for over a century.

A probiotic is defined as "any live organism, which when administered in adequate amounts, confers a health benefit on the host". Probiotics are themselves bacteria-the healthy kind we want to have inside our bodies. They are grown and processed in special laboratories and can be administered in the form of capsules, gel caps, tablets, liquids and even vaginal suppositories. Researchers have successfully used probiotic vaginal suppositories in the treatment of vaginal yeast infections.

Probiotics work in several ways and not simply by multiplying in number and competing with unhealthy organisms. In the intestinal tract, probiotics normalize the acidity of the gut and help the lining of the bowels become less leaky. Immune function is improved and the level of inflammation is reduced. Once Candida, which thrives poorly in the acidic environment, is replaced by healthy bacteria, the new organisms improve digestion, foster absorption of some vitamins, lower cholesterol, reduce liver toxins and aid in the digestion of lactose (milk sugar).

In general, probiotics prefer an acidic environment which is low in oxygen and thrive best when our diet is low in refined sugar and higher in complex carbohydrates and protein.

There are two types of bacteria most commonly used in probiotic therapy. The first are species of Lactobacillus such as L. acidophilus, L. casei, L. reuteri, L. rhamnosus and L. planterum. Lactobacilli make lactic acid as a normal byproduct of their metabolism as well as hydrogen peroxide which both contribute to an acidic environment, one that Candida species grow poorly in. They also make molecules that are toxic to other organisms and biosurfactants-molecules which are "slippery" and which interfere with the attachment of unhealthy organisms.

Scientists have used various strains of Lactobacilli to treat Candida vaginal infections, with significant success. In many ways, Candida infections are much like infections of the intestines. Doctors believe that bacteria and Candida from the bowels are the same organisms that secondarily colonize the vaginal tissues. Women who take antibiotics which subsequently cause a vaginal yeast infection likely have the same problem of Candida overgrowth happening concurrently in their bowels.

The second type of probiotic found to be useful in treating Candida and other types of overgrowth is Bifidobacterium, with species such as B. infantis and B. bifidum. Strains of Bifidobacteria produce acetic acid, hydrogen peroxide and antibacterial substances that inhibit other bacteria and Candida.

Bifidobacteria species show particular promise in the treatment of irritable bowel syndrome, a bowel disease the cause of which is not completely known. Irritable bowel syndrome causes abdominal pain, cramping, diarrhea and sometimes constipation. Like intestinal Candidiasis, IBS patients show evidence of problems with bowel motility, abnormal immune function and problems with a "leaky gut". If treated with probiotics like Bifidobacteria, many of these patients improve significantly. Those who have researched this phenomenon, however, admit that the particulars of which probiotics to use and how much to give is still unclear. Because irritable bowel syndrome can involve the small colon and because that area of the colon doesn't lend itself well to medical studies, it is clearly possible that some patients diagnosed as having irritable bowel syndrome actually are afflicted with intestinal Candidiasis.

Even though the most common probiotic agents we all use are the live cultures found in yoghurt, eating yoghurt for infections like intestinal Candidiasis is probably not sufficient to make any real difference. Experts recommend that probiotics come from a reputable laboratory that can concentrate, purify and refrigerate the live bacteria in order to maximize the overall product effectiveness.

Yeast infections in men

Treatment of Candida

Yes, it's true, men can get yeast infections too. and not just thrush, the oral yeast infection that is common in men with HIV. Men can get penile yeast infections, and it is not pleasant. Not only that, but heterosexual couples who have unprotected sex can pass yeast infections back and forth endlessly, so it seems like it might be a good idea to learn more about male yeast infections and get your boy cleaned up if there's reason to suspect he has a yeast infection of his own.
CLICK HERE to learn about Yeast Recovery Programs
Causes
men get yeast infections for the same reasons that wimmin do, although the likelihoods are different. the main causes of penile yeast infections are listed below.

sexual transmission: Candida can be transmitted between people by direct contact, and so can be considered a sexually-transmitted disease. a yeast-infected woman who has unprotected sex with a man can infect her lover, treat her own infection, and then get reinfected next time she has sex with him. if you or your lover has an active infection you should be extra-careful to follow the safer sex guidelines until you are sure both of you are infection-free. during an infection or while being treated, refrain from vaginal intercourse, wash your hands or change your gloves in between touching your own crotch and your partner's, and keep those sex toys really really clean.

Antibiotics: although far less common than sexual transmission, the other main cause of penile yeast infection is prolonged antibiotic use. the male body has a standard contingent of creatures that inhabit the crotch, and antibiotics can rid the body of the good ones, allowing the normally-occurring yeast to take over.

Diabetes: men with diabetes are more susceptible to yeast infections, presumably because the elevated sugar in the urine makes for yummy yeast food. if you have frequent yeast infections and have other symptoms of diabetes, like you're always thirsty and you have to urinate often, definitely go see a doctor.

symptoms
it's tricky to tell when men have yeast infections, because they can have a penile yeast infection without having symptoms. when they do have symptoms, it can be really awful; i was once told by an infected man that he "wished it would just fall right off." here are some signs of the dreaded penile yeast infection:

the most common symptom is irritation and soreness of the head of the penis. apparently it can itch like crazy, too.

yeah, men can get a discharge, including that clumpy nasty white stuff. also, the head of the penis may turn reddish or get little blistery things.

Suffering from a Male Yeast Infection?
Male Yeast Infections or Jock Itch; not something to be taking lightly

Next to "jock itch", an infection of primarily the groin area of men caused by Tinea cruris, a Male Yeast Infection caused by Candida, particularly the penis, is the most common fungal infection involving the male genitals. It can affect any man and is more common in men who are sexually active. When a given Candida Infection is part of a systemic or "total body" disease, it can be extremely severe. On average, however, a Male Yeast infection is localized to the glands of the penis or to the foreskin and is called Candida Balanitis or Balanoposthitis.

Generally, a man suffering from a Male Yeast Infection or Balanitis due to Candida species experiences a painful redness, swelling or a weepy, wet eruption of the end of the penis or of the foreskin. There can be patchy areas of whitish discharge. Usually it itches severely. Occasionally, the head of the penis can be covered with blisters. If the infection spreads up into the urethra, it can cause urethritis, resulting in painful urination and an increased frequency of urination, similar to a bladder infection.

While it can happen to anyone, Yeast Infections occur more often in those who suffer from Diabetis. Because Candida species live on sugar, conditions causing an elevated blood sugar like diabetes cause the Candida to proliferate.

A Male Yeast Infection caused by Candida is also technically a sexually-transmitted disease. Having intercourse with a woman who has a yeast infection or with a man with anal Candidiasis can cause the infection to pass to the male penis causing a Male Yeast Infection. Incidentally, recent research out of London determined that the finding of Male Yeast Infections caused by Candida on the penis by means of a swab and cultures was equal among gay and heterosexual men and showed up on the culture medium in 16% of all men. Only about 7% of men seeking treatment for an STD actually had a clinical infection related to Candida.

Antibiotics, when used for long periods of time, can increase the risk of developing a Male Yeast Infection caused by Candida. Because our skin, including that of the penis, carries normal, healthy bacteria on it, antibiotics used to destroy an infection can also destroy our healthy bacteria, allowing excess growth of Candida species. Candida Balanitis can become the result of that overgrowth.

There is some controversy around whether or not Candida causes Candida Balanitus more in uncircumcised men (those who still have a foreskin) than in those who are circumcised. Certainly, in a Male Yeast Infection, Candida is more likely to grow beneath the foreskin because that area is warm and generally moist-perfect conditions for Candida growth. One investigational study examined normal men who were either circumcised or not and checked for Male Yeast Infections and prevalence of Candida species. They found the same rates of Candida colonizing the penis (about 15%) in all men and that circumcision status made no difference. The study did note, however, that uncircumcised men had far more symptoms from Candida than did men who were colonized with Candida species but were circumcised.

The use of nonoxynol-9, which is found in spermicidal jellies and in the lubricant from some condoms, may contribute to Candida Balanitus. Nonoxynol-9 is also known to cause Vaginal Yeast Infections in women who use it.

Treatment of Candida Balanitis is somewhat controversial. Some believe that using a topical fungal preparation is sufficient while others insist that, for faster and more complete treatment, a more systemic approach may be necessary.

The greatest health threat to human life today is not what most people fix their attention on. Is it heart disease or cancer? Perhaps not.

It is very likely a largely unknown or underestimated enemy, Fungus Overgrowth in the human body! It may be the greatest threat because most ignore it while others deny its existence. Doctors are not required to report any fungus caused diseases or deaths. And as you'll see, unknowingly, doctors even contribute to the dangerous Candida overgrowth in our bodies.

This helps explain why there is no simple solution to "Chronic Fatigue, diabetes or heart disease, cancer, Fibromyalgia, and many more diseases." A host of some of these disorders are called a syndrome, in other words they are our fault. And where do the great scientists of our time say all these diseases come from? No one knows. How do you correct them? No one knows.

But fatigue is associated with all of them. There appears to be not one but many failing systems also associated with these disorders. In most cases there are some common causes of the system failures. The most common cause seems to be a faulty immune system that allows Candida Overgrowth! Observation and plain horse-sense strongly points in that direction.

Candida overgrowth is usually always present, is it not?

WHY DOES CANDIDA OVERGROWTH OCCUR?

Please review the amazing story that develops as we follow the clues:

If you have ever taken cortisone, birth-control pills, antibiotics or prolonged chlorine in high amounts, chances are very high that you have partially or totally destroyed your secondary immune system, your anti-fungal immune system! (The fungal immune system is not the same as your primary immune system made up of T-cells, antibodies, macrophages, etc.)

What is the fungal immune system? Initially in a adult it is about 6-8 lbs of friendly bacteria in the lower gut. This should comprise about 85% of all organisms in the bowels. The remaining 15% should be fungus or yeast. It takes this ratio (or balance of power) to keep the fungus in check. Fungus is the aggressor, much more powerful than the bacteria and fungus has no anti-bodies to protect itself so it produces very deadly mycotoxins. (Anti-bacterial poisons)

Remember when found, penicillin was a mold on bread? Scientists discovered that fungus is a natural enemy of bacteria and have used different varieties to kill off unwanted or dangerous bacteria ever since. Unknown was the danger of disrupting the delicate "balance of power" in our bowels between the bacteria and fungus. It has led to a dangerous increase of fungus in our bodies. The progress of fungus/yeast overgrowth would now be unchecked.

Once the fungus takes over the bowels and conquers all remaining friendly bacteria it migrates upward until filling the small intestineCLICK HERE to learn about Yeast Recovery Programs

How dangerous is fungus?

What is Candida?

What is Candida? Candida is a fungus that normally resides in the large intestine (or colon). Albicans is one type but there are dozens of cousins that may get into our bodies. Fungus can change shape at will from straight (like a stick) to round (like bubbles) which we then call yeast. Candida is fungus. Candida is Yeast! Mold is also in the fungus family.
Fungus NEEDS SUGAR. Fungus does NOT BREATHE. It behaves like a parasite to get sugar.

Albicans is one type but there are dozens of cousins that may get into our bodies. Fungus can change shape at will from straight (like a stick) to round (like bubbles) which we then call yeast. Candida is fungus. Candida is Yeast!

How dangerous is fungus? Fungus tries to cross its genes with other life forms to get sugar. It crosses with Algae and makes a hybrid we call Lichen. It crosses with bacteria to make a bacterium such as mycobacterium leprae (which is what causes).

Is this the same thing as a yeast infection? Yes! But usually it is called a "yeast infection" by women when it migrates into the vagina. Otherwise it is just referred to as a Candida problem.

Why does it seem to affect women more than men? Women go to the doctor more often than men & women take birth control pills more than men. Both negatively effect the fungal immune system.

Should I have it in my body at all? No, you cannot, nor would you want to. We live in a fungal soup where every breath, brings fungus into our bodies. It is on your hands, table, door knobs, etc.

What is the proper amount? The correct balance of power is 15% fungus to 85% friendly bacteria (or probiotics). That 85% bacteria is our natural barrier or "fungal immune system" which keeps the fungus from traveling & filling our whole body (or having systemic Candida).

How come they are out of balance? Taking anything into our bodies that kills our friendly bacteria is like poisoning ourselves slowly every day because we lose our main defense and our bodies fill up with fungus, their waste & poisons (mycotoxins). Myco means fungus and toxin means poison.

What can kill our friendly bacteria? Antibiotics, birth-control pills, non organic meats filled with hormones and antibiotics even high amounts of chlorine.

Can I get rid of it completely? No, you cannot, nor would you want to. We live in a fungal soup where every breath, brings fungus into our bodies. It is on your hands, table, door knobs, etc.

Why is it so hard to control? Fungus/yeast is very powerful, aggressive, destructive and hard to kill. Despite being brainless, they know how to get fed, by making us crave sugar. Once our normal fungal immune system is gone we have no real protection. Add to this the lack of education regarding it, teamed with a medical system that treats each symptom as a disease itself. (example, acid-reflux)

Is it a disease? Not really. Most diseases aren"t really diseases either, they"re just symptoms of Candida overgrowth â%u20AC¦â%u20AC¦ but since the symptoms eventually kill us anyway, it probably is appropriate to call them a disease.

So, can it cause a disease? Abundant evidence says, yes. Perhaps as high as 90% of all the disorders plaguing mankind, may only be symptom-diseases caused by fungus overgrowth.

How do I know if I have Candida Overgrowth? You can do the "Spit Test" listed in the left column and "review all of the possible symptoms" you could have. If you have just 3 of the possible symptoms you may be in a heap of trouble with fungus alreadyâ%u20AC¦. In any case, you can be pretty sure you have Candida overgrowth "if you bloat or produce gas after eating."

Is it true the itching and burning sensation is yeast related? Probably. It means they are way out of control.

Is it true that overgrowth can cause a foggy brain? Yes! Fungus brews your sugar into a dangerous alcohol which not only makes us a bit under the influence but can also damage brain cells in time.

Is it true you can have blurry eyes? Yes, the fungus may get into your eyes and move about causing blurry vision, then clear as they move, then blurry, etc.

Does this fungus contribute to my being tired? Yes. It breaks down all your power producing sources such as: sugar/insulin cannot enter the cells, the thyroid cannot get nutrients to make hormones, less iron for the oxygen-carrying blood, etc.

What sort of problems can result from this condition? Hypoglycemia, diabetes, fatigue, bloating or producing gas, hypothyroidism, exhausted adrenal, cold hands or feet, brain fog, sinusitis, blurred vision, itchy ears or nose, ringing in the ears, acid reflux, constipation or diarrhea and food allergies, which can lead to auto-immune diseases like lupus, etc.

Why blame Candida for all these problems? For a simple Sherlock Holmes test, please answer these questions:

What does Fungi/Yeast crave?
What does a person who is hypoglycemic crave?
What does a diabetic crave?
What do cancer patients crave?
What do cancer cells consume from our bodies?
The answer to all these questions is sugar.
What are alco-holics really craving?
What are choc-oholics really craving?
Why is the world suffering from obesity?
Just follow the crumbs back to the source.

I can't stop taking antibiotics, what can I do? If it is life or death situation antibiotics may be life-saving. But for every little ill it may be health-threatening. By taking Sycolvir (made from plankton) regularly your cravings will diminish. Then it will be easier to watch out for the foods that feed fungus.

Then also, Syclovir will rid the body of the favorite hiding places for strep, staph, colds, flu and pneumonia â%u20AC¦. Fungus & it"s mycotoxins! Then use natural remedies until the body"s own immune system can help to clear itself.

It is a persons own responsibility to decide when it is necessary to use antibiotics. Just remember, it only works on bacteria and most antibiotics are made of fungus or their mycotoxins.

What products can help me deal with this? There are two that stand alone and they are Syclovir and Syclovir. Syclovir is good, Syclovir is great. We sell both.

What if I cannot afford Syclovir, is there a generic version? Call our office for assistance.

Are you the sole supplier of this product? Yes, us and our distributors.

What if I don't want to use it or, I'm not happy with it? Send it back for a full refund. You have a full money back guarantee, as with all our products.

What is Syclovir and how does it work? In short, it's an amazing filtration system made from plankton that also destroys the outer membrane of fungus. "Tell-ya any-more and we'd have to kill-ya."

Why does Syclovir have sugar and vinegar in it? Perhaps as bait or perhaps as a treat for the fungus/yeast about to meet their maker. Who worries about what a condemned criminal is fed just before his execution?

Just how fast does Syclovir work? If you are itching, take a tablespoon of the powder mixed in water. If you are bloating just a teaspoon in about 4 ounces of water will do. In both cases usually about 10 minutes is enough for it to give you relief by destroying fungus.

When is the best time to take Syclovir? Anytime is fine. Just before eating a feeder-food or just after when you begin bloating.

Is it a medicine? No. No chemicals & completely body friendly. It has been used by families for over 15 years.

Can I take Syclovir while taking prescription drugs? NO! If the drugs are LIFE important do not use Syclovir because Syclovir is designed to pick up much of the toxins produced by the fungus. It may also pick up some of your drugs as these may be viewed as poisons.

Is it a supplement? It is classified as a nutritional supplement.

Can I take Syclovir if I am pregnant? NO! It cannot be used by pregnant women.

Can Syclovir be taken along with ThreeLac? Yes it can. Syclovir does not harm probiotics.

What do I need to do to re-establish my friendly bacteria in my colon?
To date no one has a perfect solution. In fact, we think it is virtually impossible at present to do so. With many strides being had in the world of health perhaps soon someone will devise a system that works to accomplish this. So far the bacteria serve us only by plowing the bowel waste and keeping it from being packed.

Why can"t I just take lots of probiotics in high amounts with major potency to restore my friendly bacteria? Because the fungus is more powerful, in greater volume than the bacteria and the fungus imbeds bowel tissue with its bacteria killing Mycotoxins. Also fungus has changed the p/H so the terrain of the colon is not suitable for bacteria.

So, we have bacteria to help us only as long as we are taking them. When we stop, generally they disappear. Try it yourself, load up on lots of good probiotics for as long as you like, then stop taking probiotics for a while and see if you are all "fixed".

Frequently Asked Questions About ThreeLac

What makes candida bad?

What is candida?

Candida is a dimorphic organism, meaning it can exist in two shapes and forms simultaneously. One form is a yeast-like state that is a non-invasive, sugar-fermenting organism. The other is a fungal form that produces very long root-like structures, called rhizoids, that can penetrate the mucosa and is invasive.

What makes candida bad?

Actually, in its yeast form it is beneficial. We all have this form of candida in our bodies. The candida population should be low and indiscernible (no overt symptoms or cloudy saliva). "Friendly" bacteria and a healthy immune system prevent this yeast from becoming an infectious fungus.

It is when our bodies lose their proper immune protection, or the intestinal pH is altered unfavorably, that the organism can change from the yeast form to the fungal form. When this happens, the now-parasitic fungal form penetrates the gastrointestinal mucosa and breaks down the boundary between the intestinal tract and the rest of the circulation in our bodies. This allows partially digested dietary proteins to travel into the bloodstream, where they exert a powerful antigenic (antibody-stimulating) assault on the immune system.

It has been unofficially estimated that a startling 80% of the population may have candidiasis that is out of control!

What causes the change from good to bad?

There are many theories. Most naturopaths concur that the conversion happens due to some sort of attack on our immune systems-either prolonged antibiotic use, taking steroids or oral contraceptives on a regular basis, or a high sugar diet. It could be a combination of these. It is also conjectured that candida increases its numbers during periods of stress and lowered immune states.

What are the symptoms of a candida infestation?

Typical candida symptoms may include jock itch, depression, dry, itchy, flaky skin, anxiety, recurring irritability or mood swings, heartburn, indigestion, lethargy, food and environmental allergies, joint soreness, chest pain, acne or other skin problems, migraine headaches, recurring cystitis/vaginal infections, premenstrual tension, and menstrual problems.

How does ThreeLac help?

As its name implies, ThreeLac contains three forms of spore-forming lactic acid bacteria. These live microorganisms purge your intestinal tract of the parasitic, fungal form of candida. At the same time, ThreeLac helps to balance the pH levels in our bodies.

The secret behind ThreeLac's effectiveness is the micro-encapsulation process that gets the candida-fighting live bacteria safely past the acidic environment in the stomach. These oxygen-friendly bacteria go to work "dining" on anaerobic problem organisms that you don't want.

Everyone using Oxygen Elements Plus has provided their body with a head start-you already have created a rich oxygen environment that ThreeLac loves.

How do I take ThreeLac?

The suggested use is 1 packet per day, right before you eat a meal. Let it dissolve in your mouth and follow immediately with 4-6 oz. of water. Then eat. Food acts as a buffer to assist ThreeLac in reaching the small intestine, where it helps your body rid itself of the candida parasites.

For stubborn or elevated candida difficulties, you may want to use 2 packets daily for 30 days, and then use 1 packet per day thereafter for maintenance. For more severe candida infestations, you may want to try 4 or 5 packets to start. Always be sure to take a fiber product as well, as outlined in the next question.

Remember that this organism is extremely resilient and difficult to rid from your body. It can take time to re-establish good health. Much patience is required in this process.

What happens when I take ThreeLac?

You may be one of a small percentage of people who experience constipation. As the candida organisms are dying off, they collect in the intestines, and your bowel becomes impacted. We recommend that you take a fiber product for the first few days when you start taking ThreeLac. And always drink plenty of water.

If you are typical, you will experience more frequent bowel activity. Stool may be loose and/or more voluminous, as more bowel matter vacates the body.

Will I need to change my diet?

There are no dietary restrictions. However, for general health reasons, use common sense and avoid processed sweets. Eat your sweets "raw." Eat a "good diet" rich in nutritious foods.

What does ThreeLac taste like?

It is a pleasant, lemon-tasting powder.

How do I know if I have candida?

You can try this simple test to see if you have candida: First thing in the morning, before you put ANYTHING in your mouth, get a clear glass. Fill with water and work up a bit of saliva, then spit it into the glass of water. Check the water every 15 minutes or so for up to one hour. If you have a problem that THREELAC can help with, you will see strings (like legs) traveling down into the water from the saliva floating on the top, or "cloudy" saliva will sink to the bottom of the glass, or cloudy specks will seem to be suspended in the water. If there are no strings and the saliva is still floating after at least one hour, you probably have candida under control. THREELAC would then be used to maintain good bowel flora and proper pH.

Why are Oxygen Elements and Active Enzymes taken with ThreeLac?

Oxygen Elements Plus is a patented product that supplies the body with a steady diet of synergistically combined free oxygen, hydrogen, full spectrum minerals, amino acids, and enzymes - all the while cleansing our body's cells and colon.

Oxygen Elements Plus contains elements that effectively oxygenate the cells in our body and facilitate the transport of oxygen throughout our tissues. It carries the ThreeLac more effectively into our digestive system and throughout our body.

Candida (yeast infection) is an anerobic bacterium which can not survive in an oxygenated environment. Oxygen Elements Plus increases the oxygen levels in the body making it harder for the candida and yeast to survive because they cannot live in an oxygen-rich environment.

Active Enzymes is a complex combination of full spectrum enzymes with probiotic benefits necessary for proper digestion and processing of fats, proteins, carbohydrates and cellulose.

ThreeLac, with the increased aid of Oxygen Elements Plus helps rid the body of candida overgrowth. This die off of candida pathogens accumulates in the intestinal tract. The enzyme cellulase that is contained in Active Enzymes helps break down the cell wall of the candida which is cellulose. Active Enzymes helps rid our bodies of these die off products and cellulose (the yeast organism is cellulose based in part), so they don't remain in our intestinal tracts.

Yes, ThreeLac Candida Defense can work on its own. The addition of Oxygen Elements Plus and Active Enzymes helps it work more efficiently.

Directions: Follow the how to use instructions for ThreeLac. Remember, ThreeLac is maximized when taken with food in the stomach to buffer the stomach acids.

Oxygen Elements Plus may be added to the water that you drink with your ThreeLac (to potentiate the ThreeLac) and can also be added to your water supply throughout the day. Be sure to drink plenty of water (half your body weight in ounces) for cleansing and hydration. Some individuals may need to consume more fiber as well.

Active Enzymes should be taken at meal times. A good acidophilus like Jarro-Dophilus EPS (which we have) may also be helpful.

Products have a 60 day money back guarantee (minus shipping) with return of product container.

What Are the Yeast Infection Symptoms in a Man?

About Candida - Candidiasis

Yeast infections are also known as Candida, Candidiasis is an infection caused by a group of microscopic fungi or yeast and there are more than 20 species of Candida.

You can develop yeast infections around dentures, under the breast, vagina and lower abdomen, nailbeds, and beneath skin folds. Yeast infections tend to become more common with increased age, but can occur at any age.

And while yeast infections are thought to be mainly a problem among women, did you know that men can also get them? This is especially true for a man whose wife is suffering from one, since having sex will pass the infection back and forth.

For a woman, however, the problem is a little trickier, since yeast thrives in a dark, moist environment. Simply put, the vagina is yeast's dream home!

Many women (and men) suffering from yeast infections resort to the remedies found in a drug store: creams, suppositories, and other "medical" remedies. The problem with these is that they tend to help for only a short period of time and then the yeast comes back with a vengeance.

In Men

Men may not experience any symptoms of the infection, however, if symptoms are present they may include:

burning sensation during intercourse
burning sensation of the penis
symptoms after intercourse if condoms not used
transient rash
Balanitis

In Men

red patches and blisters at the end of the penis and around the foreskin
severe itching and pain
Intertrigo

Skin Symptoms

burning
cracking
itching
moistness
painful, red inflamed skin containing pus
peeling on the hands, particularly between the fingers and swollen nail folds above the cuticle
shiny, pink rash with a scaly or blistered edge in the folds of the skin
Moniliasis

excessive thick, white discharge
pain during intercourse
redness and swelling of the vulva
vaginal itching and irritation
Oral Thrush

Painless white patches in the mouth or throat
Esophageal Thrush (a complication of AIDS)

Candida is the common term used for Candidiasis, which means Candida overgrowth. Candida has the ability to change into its fungal form and spore all the way through the intestinal wall and to other parts of the body. Candida is often associated with vaginal yeast infection for women.
Candida albicans, and other strains of Candida are yeast that normally inhabits our digestive system: the mouth, throat, intestines and genitourinary tract. Candida is a normal part of the bowel flora (the organisms that naturally live inside our intestines, and are not parasitic). It has many functions inside our digestive tract, one of them to recognize and destroy harmful bacteria. Without Candida albicans in our intestines we would be defenseless against many pathogen bacteria. Healthy person can have a millions of Candida albicans. Our immune system is suppose to keep it under control, together with "friendly" bacteria (Lactobacillus acidophilus , B. bifidum, Lactobacillus bulgaricus, S. thermophilus and L. salivarius, ...). If the number of friendly bacteria is decreased (antibiotics, pesticides, chlorine,...) in relation to a number of Candida, the immune systems is weakened or other conditions for yeast proliferation occur (diet high in sugar, improper pH in the digestive system) Candida albicans will shift from yeast to mycelial fungal form and start to invade the body. In the yeast state Candida is a non-invasive, sugar-fermenting organism, while in fungal state it is invasive and can produce rhizoids, very long root-like structures. Rhizoids can penetrate mucosa or intestinal walls, leaving microscopic holes and allowing toxins, undigested food particles and bacteria and yeast to enter the bloodstream. These condition is known as Leaky Gut Syndrome, one more name for the food and environmental intolerances
