Giant Squid Summer School Challenge #5 "How To"
As part of the Giant Squid Summer School, participating Giants receive a specific weekly lensmaking challenge. They have a week to work on the lens, and then post it below to "turn in" their homework and show that it's done.
The Week 5 Challenge is to make a "How To" lens.
We asked the Giants (and participating RocketMoms) to think about something you know, something your friends are always asking about (and maybe don't quite understand). Or maybe something you've recently learned and would enjoy gathering and sharing with the world. This is where our original Squidoo tagline from early days, "Everyone's an expert at something" starts coming in to play. Only, you needn't be an expert. Just an interested, passionate observer. A storyteller and teacher of your subject.
Here's what the Giant Squid Summer School Class of 2009 came up with!
Giant Squid Summer School Students and participating RocketMoms: Please add your How To Assignment Lenses to the List Below.

Giants: Add Your Week #5 "How To" Lenses Here
If you don't add them to the list, they don't count toward graduation!
And hey, who said you had to stop at just one? If you want Extra Credit, go ahead and list all the Week #5 lenses you made for the Summer School! As long as they're on topic and part of the challenge, that is.
If you have to skip a week of class, don't worry! You can always come back before Graduation and add your Week #5 lens here.

- >>5 modules should be much simpler. Yay.<<
No kidding! I think this assignment took me the most time of any of the others as I had to learn about the subject of face painting.
Someone on eHow wrote an article and got a lot wrong and was told off by many people (she said to use acrylic paints, etc). I rather prefer to avoid being told off!

- I made my lens because I'm so excited about the street fair. I'm trying to decide if I should edit it and turn it into a general lens about making the most of street fairs instead of making the most out of the Fargo Street Fair since the Fargo Street Fair is this week.

- How I decided on what lens to build for the 'how to' challenge is based on the fact it is the question that is most asked me.... How do I start my Family Tree? I used that question as my title. And highlighted the impact that the module - BIG picture text - has on the viewer so that it will be easy to remember. Simple and to the point was my goal with this lens.

- This was a fun lesson :0) I am missing one picture of the cheese biscuits on my lens, because I am not making them until today. So when I do, I will post a picture for the cheese biscuits.
It is a little sad knowing we only have three more weeks of the summer school. Are we allowed to sign up for the next session or do you think there will ever be an advance summer school? Just wondering...
