Giant Squid

A giant squid, washed to shore and found in good condition is being studied by scientists.

It has been deep frozen to preserve the animal while scientists decide what to do with it. While they decide what to do next, other scientists are building a large microwave to defrost the beast.

Hungry calamari lovers are hoping the sea creature will be sold to take away shops where an over abundance in product may reduce prices.

Scientists are not amused by this idea. "When you think about it logically, the take away shops are not prepared to safely cook such large calamari rings. The fryers are just not deep enough."

Stationary manufactures also want to get their tentacles on the squid. It is estimated that the giant squid contains enough ink to fill 6 billion ball point pens. The combined writing ability of these pens could draw a line from earth to the sun more than 15 trillion times.
