Giant Squid 100 Club Charter Member 2007
The first group of Giant Squids was welcomed in September 2007. When the challenge was initially issued by Squidoo Headquarters, the stakes were high. Each participating lensmaster was required to build ONE HUNDRED quality lenses to gain admission to the elite group of Giant Squids.
Not surprisingly, there was a lot of discussion about this on SquidU—many lensmasters feared that the quantity requirement would trump the quality of their lenses.
Happily, the Squidoo management team took these concerns to heart and the number of required lenses was lowered to just FIFTY. By the time this was announced I had already created 65 lenses. I decided to go all the way and build 35 more.
The lensmasters who achieved the goal of creating 100 lenses by the September 2007 deadline comprise the very first Giant Squid 100 Club. I wasn't the only one working around the clock and lugging my laptop everywhere (even on vacation!)
