Celebrating Giant Squids

I am the GypsyPirate and I have been a Squidoo Lensmaster since July 2006. I got my Giant badge in September 2007. And now, I have been asked to act as a Giant Squid Community Organizer (along with bdkz and rms). And, seriously, I couldn't be more excited about this new endeavour. I also couldn't be more excited about my fellow organizers: rms and bdkz are two of the most talented, most helpful lensmasters you will find anywhere!

The Giant Squid Organizers are here for you, the Lensmasters: current Giant Squids and prospective Giant Squids. We want to help you with anything we can.

As Giant Squid Organizers our only goal is to help you. We have set up blogs and groups and host challenges and contests to help you make Giant status. (And, once you have Giant status, to help you make more awesome lenses!) We'll have interviews and tips and in general support you all we can for the Giant Squid Program.

Rolling List Of Giant Squids: 

It would make for a very long lens to feature all of the current Giant Squids on this lens. But, here you will find a rolling list of current Giant Squid's Lensographies.

The list will show different Giants each time you visit. To see them all, you can go to the Giant Squid Headquarters group.

Giant Organizers and Greeters are always on the look out for great new Potential Giants, and we get to read some awesome lenses because of it. There are now over 650,000 lenses on Squidoo, and we are looking for more awesome ones. It's truly a hunt for hidden treasure.

We have a list of 100 Treasure Hunt items - okay, they are really more like clues - and you need to find a great (emphasis on great) lens that was made by a lensmaster that is not yet a Giant. Yes, your personal interpretation of the clue is fine, but remember that the lensmaster that makes the lens you think matches the clue can't already be a Giant Squid. What is a great lens? You'll know it when you see it. Once you have your list of lenses, submit your entries to gianthunting@squidoo.com. The contest ends Friday, August 29th at 5:00 pm EDT. Then, eligible correct entries will be sorted into prize levels and a winner drawn for three awesome prizes.
