Giant Squid Washes Up On Shore
Not far from where I live a giant squid wash itself up on a beach in Tasmania. On Wendsday night a member from the public found the 8 meter, 250kg giant squid, on Occean Beach, Strahan Tassie. Scientists want a DNA tissue sample.
It was filled with ammonia and was was mentioned to not be a tasty squid to eat, but a favorite to whales. It's long legs were damaged and would have been bigger if they were intact.
Global waming may be to blame, sending the giant from the depth of the Antartic waters. Whales have been found to be swimming a lot close than normal recently and the giant squid may just be from the icey waters too.
This is a massive squid, and might be the biggest ever, just think of the size and variety that may be in the deepest parts of the icey waters near the icey continent.
The squid washed up on a western side of the tiny apple isle, Tasmaina.
Weather from the Antartic has been blowing as far as Melbourne, Australia. A definate change to the normal 4 seasons in a day weather melbourne is use to and a relevation that global warming is effecting one of the most livable cities in the world.
' It's cold here, colder than normal it has a bite, and dry, very dry we are in a drought' A citizen describes
The weather may be to blame , making the waters off the southern coast a lot colder and it's inviting the Antartic animals to new waters.
'Weather is really changing, I notice it, weather patterns are a definate change and you don't need to be a scientist to realise it. Who knows, even cyclones might be a regular soon in our Great Southern Bight. The whales find there way here thats for sure' says an Australian.
