History of Tomatoes
Tomatoes come from Central and South America and were brought back to Europe by Cortez. The tomato plant is a member of the nightshade family and because of that they were thought to be poisonous. The leaves of the tommato plant are poisonous but not the fruit.
The Spanish can be credited with spreading the plant around the world. They brought the first plants to Europe, then brought them to Asia via the Philippines. As of today, China is the largest producer of the fruit in the world. Want to learn how I grow them, read on.

How I Grow Tomatoes
I have been growing tomatoes for over 20 years and found the way I am about to describe the best way to produce healthy plants, more fruit and tasty tomatoes. I have grown them from seed and bought them from the garden store. I prefer to buy them from the garden store, because it is easier and you get to harvest earlier.
I buy my plants, Giant Tomatoes, at least 6 inches or more tall. I then remove the leaves and stems except for the top three or four leaves. I make a small trench and lay the plant down and then cover it up, except for the top leaves. This allows the plant to produce more roots leading to a healthier and production of more fruit.
As the plant grows, be sure to remove the sucker leaves and keep it pruned. See video below.
