Wrought Iron Wall Art - A Great Gift for Father's Day
Along the way, somewhere around Grafton we found a couple of great places to buy wrought iron and cast iron products. One of the items I bought was a beautiful, black wrought iron wall art of a man on a horse. The horse was rearing up on its hind legs. It was beautiful and was perfect for a Father's Day gift - a holiday that was just a few weeks away.
When I gave Dad that wrought iron decor, he immediately attached it to the siding beside the back door. The perfect place as we seldom used the front door. Even visitors knew to come to the back door and everyone enjoyed his new sign for the house.
Unfortunately, I don't have a picture of the sign, but it made a great gift for Father's Day that we were all able to enjoy - especially Dad!
The photo accompanying this article gives you an idea of a wrought iron design, but it isn't anywhere near as beautiful as our special gift!

When You Think About Father's Day...
what type of gift comes to mind?
We all have our own relationship with our father - some have a good relationship while others do not. There are some who never knew their father for various reasons and others who have lost a special person in their life. Father's Day can bring many emotions into play, depending on whether there was a relationship or not.
My question today is whether you spend time picking out just the right gift or whether you just grab something off the shelf. I understand that there are others who wouldn't give their father in their lifetime. I find that sad, but understandable. My father and I have had a touch and go relationship for years.

It is always a thrill to give a gift that the recipient is thrilled to receive. We all have probably given something to someone and it showed on their face that they weren't as happy about it as we were. But, when their face lights up and they immediately start enjoying the gift, that tells us they fully accepted our present.
I'll never forget Dad grabbing his hammer and taking the wrought iron horse and rider outside and immediately placing it on the side of the house.

Dad always loved his power tools and had a well equiped and organized workshop in the garage as well as a large space to work in the basement of his house. We could always know that buying something for his workshop was a good choice for a present no matter what season of the year.

One thing my Dad really enjoyed over the years was cooking out on the grill. This isn't the exact model, but pretty close to what turned out to be his favorite. Here is a comment another fan of this style grilled said:
"I have had quite a few grills including a $2k grand turbo elite and this was just amazing. I had debated on the summit 420 with the extra burners and size, but this grill works for everything. I have had it 2 months and cooked ribs, t-bones, rib-eyes, and beer can chicken. Completely thrilled with grill. No flare ups, great temp holding. I was grilling in 20 degree weather and no issue with holding temp. The sear burner works great and the side burner is wonderful. No regrets at all with this grill. Definitely a quality weber product especially with the change on the burner controls and burner routing (E-w vs. N-S)."
