2. A Doll for Christmas
My Favorite Doll for Christmas

Merry Merry Christmas - Kids with Toys by Tree

When I was a child there was no such thing as a talking doll let alone a singing doll. Instead, we used our imagination. My favorite baby doll was not even purchased for me. It was a hand-me-down from a cousin. I loved Floppy Doppy so much that I still have her today.
My doll had a cloth body with plastic head, arms and legs. She was the size of a newborn and I used my imagination to make her come to life.
If you believe that children need to develop their imaginations, you might want to forgo the Singamajigs and check out baby dolls such as the one in the story below:

These are my recommendations for educational board games: Children practice counting, adding and subtracting, multiplying and dividing, most games involve reading and all of them involve critical thinking skills as well as strategy. By playing board games with my parents, I was introduced to statistics and probability by my parents when playing board games and have continued passing on those skills to my children. The following pages will introduce you to some board games you may never have know about or never thought of the educational value inherent in. Come explore more educational board games...

4. Recycled Gift Ideas for Christmas
Toys from Grandma's Attic

Little Girls Playing with Dollhouse

It would seem that creating a toy from plastic bags would be a good way to recycle the bags you bring home from the Grocery store. However, reusing this plastic does not solve the problem. Plastic from bags will never biodegrade. We are filling our landfills with larger and larger quantities of bags each day.
Additionally, this kind of toy would not be safe for young children because of the danger of suffocation.
Is this the kind of lesson we would like to teach our children? No!
Educational value? Negative.

Children play for hours dressing up and exploring possible careers. Wanna play dress-up?
