- A dictionary of quotations is a must - firstly you can 'dip' into it when you need a short break from writing, secondly you might find a quote you want to include in your work and thirdly if you're ever stuck for a character's name there's plenty of inspiration in the quote collection (names of plays, names of novels, names of people giving the quotes...).
Also, it may be a cliche that writers like coffee but a hot drink (tea, latte, hot chocolate & marshmellows) is an ideal 'recharge'. What about a gift hamper built around that writer's favourite hot drink?
