Free Gift Cards for Filling Your Prescriptions

Prescription Drugs can be costly but there is a way to get some money back at the Pharmacy. Most pharmacies offer gift cards for new or transferred prescriptions without inflating the regular co-pay or cost of your prescription.

This Week I Got A $50 Gift Card from RiteAid Pharmacy

Occasionally, I buy the Sunday Newspapers; part for the stories, part for the advertisements and coupons. This week I went to the dentist and received a prescription for a horrible toothache. I remembered seeing lots coupons for gift cards offers if you have a prescription to fill, so being the coupon cutter that I am, I returned home to see if there were any in my Sunday Newspapers. I didn't see any in the usual places (color circulars), so I Googled it and found a forum with just the direction I needed. I was able to locate within the body of the newspaper a $50 coupon for a Gift Card to RiteAid Pharmacy with a New or Transferred Prescription. My co-pay was just $4.81 and I received my Gift Card immediately after paying for my prescription. Not bad for a few minutes of research. Read on to find out where to look for your gift card coupons.

Where To Find Gift Card Coupons

Most Sunday Newspapers. Check the sales circulars from places such as: Walgreens, CVS, RiteAid (formerly Eckerds), Target, Kmart, Freds, Kroger's, Publix.

In addition to the sales circulars you can also find them located within the body of the newspaper. I found mine in the Business Section, so they can really be located just about anywhere.

Periodically, I also receive 'junk snail mail' containing coupons, so you may not want to be so quick to discard of your 'junk'.

What are the amounts of the gift cards?

Gift Card amounts are commonly from $10-$30. The RiteAid $50 card is the most I've personally seen.

How would I transfer my prescription to take advantage of an offer?

The easiest way to transfer your prescription would be to take your medication that contains your previous pharmacy's details to the new Pharmacist. They will contact the previous pharmacy and handle the entire transfer process for you.

Keep in mind that many offers would be available to you if you have a new prescription just as I did. Just be sure to read the details of the coupon to make sure that it states that its good for either new or transferred prescriptions.
