We do not sell anything, and are therefore totally independent and free to suggest any gift idea we like. Gift ideas range from free ideas like 'Wash their car Voucher', to top end ideas such as 'A trip on the orient express' and ethical ideas like 'sponsor a goat for a 3rd world family'.

GiftGen is the creation of two college friends both now in their mid-thirties. The site has been in development since autumn 2005.

The Gift Generator was recently featured as the No. 1 'most useful shopping site' (beating eBay & Kelkoo) in the Telegraph's '101 most useful websites' article. It was featured on Radio 2's 'Website of the day' on 18th December 2006, and on GMTV on 19th December 2006, where it was used for christmas gift ideas. We were also featured in the 'Best new websites' section of 'Web User' magazine (Dec 2006), where we received 4 stars out of 5.
