At 70 pounds, and made of plywood, it can take some heavy duty cat-action. The fleece can be easily vacuumed and spot-cleaned with a damp sponge. Don't be intimidated by the big box it comes in, all models of Armarkat I've purchased (5) have been a snap to put together and this was no different. (Tools like an allen wrench/wrench are always included. So are a couple of little toys.)
The cats were playing on this as I was putting it together...the most difficult part of assembly.
