Before choosing my camera the Canon 5D Mark II I researched everything on the market and then used both a Canon and Nikon in the field. Nikon D200
I wanted to get a view on how the Nikon DSLR camera performed.
So I took the Nikon D200 to Taronga Park Zoo in Sydney. I love nature photography as it is so real; inspiring; and I love the natural lines and curves. All of these images were taken using the Nikon AF 70-300mm Telephoto Zoom Lens.
I was very happy with how the Nikon D200 performed it was very easy to use and I had no problem using any of the setting without a manual. The telephoto lens allowed me to get up close and personal, the clarity of shots was very good and maintained it integrity when printed.

My Personal Review
5D Mark II
Canon EOS 5D Mark II 21.1MP Full Frame CMOS Digital SLR Camera (Body Only)
Amazon Price: $2,149.00 (as of 05/31/2012)![]()
This is my camera and I love it.
I love everything about it from the weight of the camera (which is important as I broke my wrist two years ago); it is very intuitive and easy to use; the full frame digital sensor yields images of amazing quality; the images are of an excellent qulaity when cropped or enlarged; it sounds very mechanical rather, which is great. I just love it!

5D Mark II
Canon EOS DSLR 5D Mark II was my choice of camera and the Canon 70-200mm EF IS was my choice of lens for these shots - and I love them.
I took these photos while in Bali this year, again I love nature photography, which abounds in Bali.
I love everything about his camera. I handles so well, the setting are very easy to use and very easy to change while you are out shooting if you need to. I shot a range of subjects and loved shooting both nature and the beautiful people of Bali.

The World of Canon Lenses
I have the macro on my wishlist and it will be my next purchase.
I already have the 17-55mm and the 70-200mm. Image stabilisation is a must on a telephoto zoom lens.
I would have loved the 70 - 200mm F2.8 but it was just too heavy for me, I broke my wrist two years ago and I still have some weakness. Be aware of the weight if you are thinking about this lens - my friends have it and it is amazing!

Accessories - Cleaning Kits
Even the smallest mark can damage your image. I thoroughly clean everything before I go out shooting as I don't want to miss the moment or a great shot because of fluff and dust. Also I always keep a cleaning kit with me when I am out shooting as I don't want dust to ruin my day.
Accessories - Filters
Lens can be extremely expensive so it is really important to care for them properly. One way of keeping them free of scratches is to pop a cover of them when you aren't using them. However, when you are using them these are the filters I use to protect the lenses. To be honest I didn't use my camera much at all until I got the filters, as I didn't want to take the risk that something might scratch it.
Magazine Subscriptions
When you are a budding photographer any assistance you can get which will help your photography progress, is generally most welcome. There are so many genres in photography and generally a magazine with tips and suggestions of how to improve for each genre. Subscriptions are inexpensive but are a useful and treasured reference resource to keep.

- I would say that Nikon have better selections for someone just starting into photography. Then they can upgrade to Canons.
