Gift Idea for Her!

Make Your Own Cute Cell Phone Leash!

What do you need when you want to take your cell phone for a walk? Obviously, you need a cell phone leash. A cell phone leash is a small strap that can be hooked to your cell phone and worn on your wrist. A cell phone leash is essentially a bracelet with a short connector that can attach to your cell phone. In the beaded leash shown at right, both size 6 seed beads (in black) and 6mm Cat's Eye beads (in white) were used to make the links. Please select the picture at right to view a larger view of our Beaded Cell Phone Leash.

This is a relatively simple jewelry making project that is suitable for almost all skill levels. If you can successfully make a wrapped bead link, you will be able to complete this project.

Instructions for making this beaded leash are available for FREE at WigJig.

Gift Idea for Him!

Make Your Own Tie Chain!

We frequently get asked for jewelry making projects for jewelry that would be suitable for men. Here is a jewelry making project that is suitable for anyone who wears a long tie. A tie chain is an excellent clothing accessory for the person who has to store their ties in the refrigerator to keep the food stains from spoiling. This chain will help to keep your tie out of your soup. (For those of you who weren't in the US Navy, this is a favorite Navy joke used to describe a sloppy eater. Sorry, I could not resist.)

This tie chain is made of two wire components connected by segments of commercial chain. The component that is not shown in the picture above-right is the button holder wire component that slips over a shirt button and holds the tie chain in place. This component is shown at left.

When wearing this tie chain a shirt button is slide into the rounded opening in the button holder and once in place the top groove in the button holder is slide so that the threads holding the button onto the shirt are at the top of the grove with the button extending over the top of the button holder wire component. In this position, gravity will hole the tie chain in place.

The visible center-piece wire component is a piece that we call a Flemish Spiral.

Instructions for making this tie chain are avilable for FREE at WigJig!
