Gimp Video

If you're anything like me, you simply love free stuff. And if it's great, cool free stuff - then all the better, right?

The GIMP (GNU Image Manipulation Program) is just that, a very cost effective (as in absolutely free) alternative to the very expensive Photoshop.

But no matter how hard I searched I couldn't find a half decent gimp video tutorial, That was untill on day when I thought I had stumbled upon the holy grail...

GIMP Video - The Quest

Oh How I needed It Badly

I admit it, I am at the same time a software junkie, an Internet nightowl and an avid "do-it-yourself image editing nut". I can literally spend hours tweaking an image, making logos and banners and what have you not.

Not that I'm very good at it ... I'm not an artist or a pro by a long shot. I just like to do my own web stuff, that's all. I have several image editors, but was really, really drooling over Adobe Photoshop - but the price... yikes.

Then a friend suggested I try out GIMP. "More software? Free? Cool!" I was a happy camper for sure. And boy is this a serious beast - and for the price tag, it's an insane bargain!

The possibilities with this powerhouse is almost endless and it can work with almost all file types, even .psd (Photoshop Document) - nice!
But then I hit that steep learning curve again. As with all serious software tools, there is so much to figure out - and reading through online documents to figure it all out? Not this nutcase - I was prowling for Gimp video tutorials.

Sure I found some free ones at places like YouTube, bits and pieces here and there. But I wanted the overall picture - the step-by-step process. Some times I almost pulled my hair out (the little that's left) in frustration.

But then, suddenly and out of the blue there it was: 'Master The Gimp' - Eureka! I almost fainted with anticipation and delight :-)

Don't Miss Out On Learning This Powerhouse!

So, you think the GIMP is for PC only? Well, actually ... you're wrong. It's for Linux, Mac and PC, how cool is that? And if you would like a FREE copy of this serious competitor to the 'Top Dog' Adobe Photoshop - just hop right over to The Gimp Website and get ready to be amazed!

What's this GIMP thingy then?

GIMP is a raster editor (not a vector editor), just like Adobe Photoshop and Paintshop Pro from Jasc. What this means is that it works directly on the pixels (the tiny 'dots') that make up an image. A user who wants to edit and work with photographs will definitely want a raster editor. On the other hand, graphic designers and illustrators may prefer a vector editor.

Why would you want GIMP?

You not only want it - you need it! ...Unless you can shell out the serious amount of mullah needed to get your hands on Photoshop. Seeing what you can accomplish with GIMP - and comparing the cost - GIMP is really a no-brainer "investment".

Just remember:

Time is money! To get up and running fast, as well as getting the most out of this tool, you really should check out the GIMP Video Series! For that price this too really is a no-brainer :-)
