Ginger

Zingiber Officinale, also known as ginger, is a root with a peppery, spicy flavor that is available in fresh root form, ground, crystallized and candied.  Ginger is a creeping perennial that is indigenous to tropical Asia and other tropical areas like Jamaica.  Today, it is cultivated in the U.S., India and China.  When people speak of ginger, they generally refer to the fresh or dried, whole or powdered rhizome of the plant itself.  Ginger is in the same family as Turmeric.

I love ginger, especially in stir fries. Very nice lens, made my mouth water. 5***** One chinese restaurant in North London used to do a beef with pickled ginger and pineapple. Sounds weird, but it was amazing.
