Giorgio Armani (Guggenheim Museum Publications)
From Library Journal: Italian designer Giorgio Armani's label has retained its status for 25 years, and it is still revered by celebrities and celebrity watchers alike. Now Armani has received the ultimate kudos, a retrospective at the Guggenheim Museum in New York and this luxurious exhibition catalog.
Readers will recall Richard Gere in Armani clothes in American Gigolo (1980), but Armani's importance to men's and women's fashions goes beyond film. His genius of unstructured yet refined luxury in formal wear and sportswear is well documented here in 350 illustrations, mostly by the best fashion photographers, and through insightful essays by over a dozen curators, editors, and fashion historians.
Included is a lengthy interview with the designer and even family photos. The variety of layouts allows this thick book to avoid monotony, but tiny 1" thumbnail photos of celebrities wearing Armani are downright annoying. One can't see any details! Though there is no index, the extensive notes and bibliography enable further research. Recommended for all fashion collections.

Crema Nera = Fountain of Youth skin-care line
Giorgio Armani's new Crema Nera is thought to capture the Fountain of Youth. For his new skin-care line, launched in September 2007, Armani turned to his Pantelleria vacation home. "It's the only place where my face is transformed," he says of the island sandwiched between Sicily and Tunisia. "For years I visited the thermal baths at Lago Specchio di Venere. The water and mud are renowned for their healing qualities, so I decided to adapt their ingredients for a beauty line."
Crema Nera is a nutrient-packed anti-aging cream that has the same mineral composition-silicon, iron, sodium, and potassium-as the obsidian that was produced by the island's volcanic eruptions thousands of years ago.

BTW ... a bit of controversy over Armaniinternational.net
WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center: A Complaint was filed with the WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center (the Center) on April 18, 2000.
The Complainant points out that "he owns several trademarks worldwide known, the Armani Trademarks, as GIORGIO ARMANI, ARMANI and EMPORIO ARMANI. Said trade marks are used for different kinds of goods , such as clothes, glasses, perfumes in many classes with registrations in Europe, United States of America and many international registrations at the WIPO. Provided that Armani International Investment certainly knew at the moment of the registration of the Domain name at issue the importance and the notoriety of all the ARMANI trade marks, the company certainly registered the Domain Name in bad faith to the purpose of taking advantage from an unlawful use of the Modefine world famous trademarks".
Accordingly, pursuant to Paragraphs 4 (i) of the Policy and 15 of the Rules, the Panel requires that the registration of the domain name "Armaniinternational.net" be transferred to the Complainant: GA MODEFINE SA ( Switzerland).
