Girls and Dolls

I believe that one of the reasons girls love dolls so much is that they want to be "mommies" too....... They see their moms taking care of them and their baby brother or sister and so they want to take care of their "babies" too........ And they can do just that with their dolls......
I used to have a huge doll house with more than 50 mini-dolls inside and everyday my sister and I had to wake them up in the morning, play with them, take them out, have them interact with one another and their "moms" and "aunts" and then put them back to sleep at night, each one in their own little bed..... This went on for several years.. It was great!

Another reason why little girls love dolls so much is that they are perfect, beautiful and they wear the best clothes! They have long shiny hair, beautiful skinny bodies and they are always happy! They are their "models". I know because I wanted to look just like my barbie dolls.... At one point I decided I wouldn't cut my hair anymore because I wanted it to grow until my feet! (Of course that never happened.......)

Girls confide in their dolls...... They are their best "therapist", always there for them, listening to all their troubles and worries, they never let them down........ I remember taking my favorite doll with me everywhere I went (her name was Emilly). It made me feel so safe and comforted........ If I had any problems in school or with other girls, my doll would be the first to know.......

I always loved dolls. All kinds, shapes and sizes. I liked old-fashioned dolls, cloth dolls, plastic dolls, barbie dolls, dolls that looked just like real babies, mini-dolls, china dolls, even paper dolls. I was absolutely fascinated by dolls....... For me, there was nothing better than getting a new doll for my birthday or Christmas........

We had to pull a "magical" ring from their backs and they would start "chatting" with us.......... Great memories..........
