Decorating a girls bedroom is a lot of fun. To transform a girl's room into her own dreamy little estate, add flair with a chandelier, paint, unique art prints, wall decals and a little imagination.
When I start on a decorating project, I like to begin with one item and carry a few of it's colors and patterns onto the walls, floors, and furnishings of a room. Bedroom chandeliers come in a variety of shapes and colors and pulling inspiration from a chandelier in a girls bedroom was quite easy for me.
When I found these ornate girl's bedroom chandeliers, I started dreaming about decorating a girl's bedroom and how much fun it would be to transformed an ordinary bedroom into an extraordinary bedroom by adding a chandelier in a girls bedroom.

When I first saw this girl's bedroom, my immediate question was why a red chandelier in a pink bedroom? I could easily understand a white or pink chandelier, however, on closer inspection I realized that the comforter and headboard has splashes of red. In home decorating, it's small details such as this that make a room interesting and rich in character.

Floral chandeliers are precious in any future gardener's room. Case in point: Take a little girl outside in the spring when tulips are in bloom and chances are you'll soon find her bent over one wishing it was hers to keep.
As we all know, tulips are short lived, but they can stay in bloom in your little girls room if you stencil them on her wall.
When my daughter was young, she loved tulips. I purchased a tulip stencil, and created a border around the room at the top of the wall and again half way up the wall. It was less expensive than buying wall border and it was a unique touch.
Helpful tip: I found hand stenciling the tulips was much easier and quicker than using the suggested roller.

As a general rule the more elaborate a chandelier, the higher the price tag.

Victorian Lace Wall Border
Stenciling, an inexpensive way to add a border
Painting is easy and will have the most impact on a room. In fact, painting the walls the right color is usually the first step. To add detail that will make a big impact with little out of pocket cost, try your hand at stenciling a Victorian lace border around the room.
A huge benefit to using stencils instead of wallpaper border to decorate a room is that when you tire of the room's decor and you feel the urge to paint again, you simply paint over your border instead of spending your creative time stripping wall border from your walls.
Pastels and Rainbows
Another Suggestion for a Bedroom
If your daughter's bedroom accessories are in pastel colors, consider painting a rainbow in pastel colors on the wall above the crib or the bed. Rainbows are fun and easy to paint.
Whatever you choose to paint on the wall, don't let the cost of colors keep you from your project. Many stores now sell paint samples in small cans. They are affordable and you can have an array of colors without taking a huge chunk of change out of your wallet.
