The Family Giving Tree programs include the Back-to-School Drive and the December Holiday program. In 2007, the organization's 18th year of operation, the Holiday program provided gifts for 68,000 youngsters of all ages. That same year, the Back-to-School Drive helped 12,000 school children! Holiday Giving Program
68,000 Children Helped in 2007!

The Giving Tree Holiday Program works with more than 250 Bay Area social service agencies. These agencies supply us with the names and wishes of the children they serve year-round. A wish card is printed for each child, detailing their age, gender, first name and their wish for a holiday gift.
Over 900 Bay Area companies and schools participate in the program by displaying the wish cards, often on trees, in their lobbies and other public areas. It is the generosity of employees, customers and students that make this program a success. By selecting a wish card, these individuals pledge to purchase a gift for a child in need.
In December 2007, a 100,000 square foot warehouse was donated by iStar Financial to process the children's gifts.
Total Number of Children helped since 1990:
595,347!
Counties served in 2007:
Alameda, Amador, Contra Costa, Marin, Mendocino, Monterey, Napa, Sacramento, San Mateo,
San Francisco, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, Solano,
Sonoma, and Stanislaus
Family Giving Tree CEO Shopping Spree
Being a Host Company is Easy!
Any company, school, or business can host a Giving Tree simply by having a representative from your organization fill out the host enrollment form above. For more information about what it means to be a host, please read on further.
Donate space to display Wish Cards
Giving Tree hosts donate space to display wish cards, containing the first name, age and unique wish of needy children, somewhere at their place of business. Many companies hang the wish cards from Christmas trees in their lobby, cafeteria, or break area. The wish cards are prepared by the Family Giving Tree and delivered to the sponsoring companies in November. Each pack of cards contain a specific ratio of ages.
Choose a Representative
A representative from the company becomes responsible for hanging the wish cards, "marketing" the cards to employees and/or customers, collecting the donated gifts and dropping the collected wishes off at our warehouse. For companies with multiple sites and/or buildings, sometimes the on-site coordinator organizes a group of volunteers to help. In this case each person in the group is assigned responsibility for cards and gifts for a specific building/site.
Returning Hosts
If you were a host in the past, please fill out the host enrollment form again for this year if you would like to receive wish cards. We would like you to fill out the enrollment form even if you are one of those very rare organizations whose complete information has remained the same since last year-it only takes about 1 minute! Click here for the Host Enrollment Form.
Volunteer Opportunities
Host companies receive priority registration for group volunteer activities. Contact volunteers@familygivingtree.org for more information about signing up.

- It's so good to see so many corporations contributing to charity.
Another tool to give to children - a book.
