I found my passion

For years, I searched to figure out my 'why'...personal meaning of life, if you will. I knew I was brought to fruition for a reason, but truly had no idea what that reason was. Then, like a screen door in a hurricane, it hit me.

I'm supposed to help others.

Just fulfilling my "why"

I found my passion.

Now before I get 'flagged' as just another scammer, hear me out. I'm an average joe...well, not so average, as I actually have a desire to help people rather than turn my back when I can spare a few bucks for bus fare...even if I know it's not really for that. You see, my joy comes from knowing that I have the ability to enhance somebody else's life in anyway I possibly can.

I was one of the typical runners in the rat-race where I was expected to give up over one-third of my daily life to making money for a major company. A situation where, although I enjoyed working with the people on my team, I didn't necessarily agree with the company goals and mission...after all, I was a programmer and my goals typically revolved around how many lines of code I could write in a week.

Many times, I found myself simply staring out the window of my office, daydreaming of what it would be like to simply ignore the alarm clock, forget about the meetings and just...do whatever I wanted rather than plant myself in front of a computer, fulfilling the goals of a CEO in another state, with a different lifestyle than my own. Talk about no sense of accomplishment.

I was ready for a change, and I wasn't looking for to twiddling my thumbs waiting for something to happen to me. I was ready to get up and finally live life on my own terms, making the type of life that I was meant to have.

Although I had my own goals and desires, deep down I knew it was my 'calling' to help others...and not by putting money in the pockets of the higher-ups in the corner offices of corporate America. I had lived life as many others, working too hard for a small compensation plan, living paycheck to paycheck just trying to keep the banks from taking my house or pulverizing my credit file. I saw my neighbors, friends and family getting hit hard by the 'non-recession' recession that we're living in by means of layoffs, foreclosures and repossessions. It's not fun landing head first once you hit rock bottom and my conscience and morals made it difficult to see my fellow rat-racers being tossed around.

I decided it was time to throw myself at the wolves and try again at something that normally made me cringe, just as much as it might make you shake in fear...network marketing. Yeah, it's not exactly branded as the hottest idea, but I had made the plunge a few different times, falling on my face numerous times only achieving an empty bank account and maxed out credit cards.

After doing as much research as I could, yes...even the negative information that was out there, and believe me, there's a lot more negative than positive; I believe I found this new kid on the block to be something special. The heads of the program actually had some real experience in their field, and not just a couple of guys in a garage on Saturday nights trying to yank money from the hands of good people.

Anyway, I wanted to make a change, I wanted to find something that would allow me to give back in a positive way based on the current challenges we are all experienging one way or another. I found my way and now I'm finally able to turn around and invest in not only myself, but in ways that I know can help those today and tomorrow.
