A Review of the Glamour Dollhouse With Lights and Sounds

The Glamour Dollhouse with lights and sounds isn't just a box with rooms in it. Children have wonderful imaginations that spin a day of make believe into a slice of real life activities. Fashion dolls aren't simply dolls in a little girl's eyes. They're moms and sisters, friends and family and kids love nothing more than to give those dolls a home of their own.

With the Glamour Dollhouse, they'll get four stories of fun as they build exciting lives for their dolls. The bright colors inside the house catch the attention and spur a child's imagination. One level one, they'll let their dolls sit before a roaring fire and share a family evening.

By the touch of a button, the piano will come to life, the toilet can flush and the stove will sizzle at mealtime. Your little girl will happily spend hours getting her dolls ready for a night out at the lighted vanity and coming home to tuck the little ones in bed by light of the chandeliers. This dollhouse is roomy enough for a large extended doll family, so you might want to stock up on several more fashion dolls.

Barbie Pink 3-Story Dream Townhouse

Barbie Pink 3-Story Dream TownhouseBarbie has enthralled kids for many years and no doubt will continue to do so in the future. With all the realistic accessories that are part of it, it's no wonder the Barbie Dream Townhouse is a top rated gift. Every room in the townhouse is complete with Barbie furniture and there are many sounds that make up part of every day real life including the ringing doorbell and the light with the refrigerator.

One of the biggest hits with kids who play with the townhouse is the moving elevator. Kids love to put Barbie inside and move her from floor to floor as she goes about her glamorous life. Parents will love that it's easy to assemble and when not being played with, it can fit comfortably into a closet. Because of the size when it's put together, more than one child can play at a time, so it's a great way for siblings to get in on the fun too.

The Savannah Dollhouse

Savannah DollhouseLife in the South conjures up images of genteel Southern Belles and trees dripping with Spanish moss. The Savannah Dollhouse easily brings to mind the quiet elegance of that life with the soft, muted colors and handmade furniture. Kids love everything about this house-especially the care given to detail. There are linens for the bed and cushions for the furniture in the living room-giving the home the feel that it's waiting for the occupants to return.

It comes with a delightful porch swing off the balcony where fashion dolls can sit and sip mint julep sweet tea while they chat. Your child will delight in all the possibilities for her dolls. You'll want to make sure you have plenty of space for this house because it is large. This is also a tall, very durable dollhouse that even when your child outgrows playing with it will still look great in the room.

Caring Corners - Mrs. Goodbee Interactive Dollhouse

Caring Corners-Mrs. Goodbee Interactive DollhouseEven though kids of all ages love dollhouses, some of them are not appropriate for smaller ones. But the Caring Corners Mrs. Goodbee Interactive Dollhouse was designed with wee ones in mind. This is the dollhouse that talks the minute your child begins play. Once they ring the doorbell, the house is ready to play and enchants the kids with a greeting song.

The dollhouse unfolds to reveal spacious rooms on both sides of the house-you get 12 rooms in all. Kids will learn and be entertained at the same time with more than 400 interactive activities including lively sounds, cute songs and more. They'll also get to learn online too with the Good Deeds Garden as they engage in games.

This is a toy that's not only fun but educational as it reinforces behavior and good manners. Kids learn how to interact and discover that it can be fun to do good deeds. The dollhouse folds up for easy storage but because kids love it, you probably won't be folding it up much.

Fisher Price Loving Family Grand Dollhouse

Fisher Price Loving Family Grand DollhouseThe Fisher Price Loving Family Grand Dollhouse is great for a first dollhouse for kids four years of age and older. It's almost 24 inches in height and is made of sculpted plastic. Your child will be able to play with her dolls in a total of eight rooms. Two of the eight rooms swing out onto the side when the dollhouse is opened up giving your child ample room to play.

Complete with the dollhouse is a mom and dad figurine along with a baby boy and girl. Furniture includes booster seats for both kids as well as a table and chairs so you'll want to buy some extra furniture sets for your child to be able to decorate the other rooms.

The dollhouse has a staircase that kids love to have the mom and dad climb up or down on and has a top room that can be converted into attic space. You can get a miniature doll trunk and your child will love exploring among the treasures.

Special Note About This Dollhouse: My daughter, Scarlett, owned this dollhouse for about two years. She had a BLAST. The rooms were very affordable. We wound up with a ton of them - and lots of people - our own family (even Grandmas and pets), and then friends of all sorts. We recently had a new cousin by marriage over and the little girl (aged 3) bawled when she had to leave the dollhouse.

So we decided to give this dollhouse to her because Scarlett's had it for about 2 years and is now moving up to Barbie's Townhouse (above), which we bought her for Christmas. One thing though - she loved the people so much that she made me keep them because they represent our family.

I still have my dollhouse from when I was a child, so a nice dollhouse is definitely a good toy investment.

I don't have any little ones around any more, but I remember my first Barbie Doll House. I got it when I got my tonsils taken out. I had so much fun with it. That was close to 50 years ago and I remember it like yesterday. So keep the memories alive and get a doll house for your child. By the way, they are not just for little girls, there are houses for boys too.
