I want to make a baked glaze ham right now! I think I saw a Martha Stewart Show once where they glazed toe ham with a can of Coca Cola; I thought that was interesting, and it looked really good. Thanks for sharing your recipe; I'll have to try it out.
  • senditondown Feb 9, 2012 @ 11:41 pm | delete
I have always used brown sugar, pineapple and butter. Yours definitely sounds like one to try.
  • Nonersays Jan 27, 2012 @ 10:44 pm | delete
I always cook the ham for holiday meals and my in-laws cook the turkey. This past year we switched to pre-cooked spiral cut hams that come with their own glaze so all I had to do was glaze it and heat it up.

My husband mentioned he would like a Honey Baked Ham so I checked into the prices and a location in our area. For the price of the ham, I could buy two of the gifts on my kid's wish list for Christmas. Appalled, I searched Squidoo and found your delicious ham recipe so not only does my husband thank you in advance for the ham we will have for Christmas, my child also thanks you for one or two more presents. Angel blessed.

I love ham in just about every shape and form. By itself, in a casserole, ham and eggs and just a simple sandwich on rye with either horseradish or just a little butter. Though it's okay, canned ham just can't compete with ham on the bone. I'll definitely give this recipe a try.

We don't really eat ham as main dish; we mostly use rolled baked ham slices stuffed with asparagus or beans, or else in a sandwich with cheese or nothing else but butter. But honey baked ham is my favourite ham ever - the taste is excellent baked this way.

Delicious! I always bake a ham with cloves and a honey glaze on Christmas Eve - we eat it hot with crusty bread rolls and then we have it on Christmas morning with scrambled eggs and Bucks Fizz.

We normally order from our local shop because we presumed that it is very difficult to prepare a homemade ham. But reading through the ingredients and the procedures, it's not that difficult at all. We will definitely prepare this ham recipe in the next family gathering. 5*

Hope you could visit my lenses and this fb page. Thanks

Down here in the Pennsylvania German regions New Year's tradition calls for a pork and sauerkraut dinner! I prefer baked ham ... I guess that qualifies as pork 8-)

Fabulously tasty lens. I truly adore the Honeybaked Hams and simply can't get enough of the stuff. I have never actually made a glazed ham myself, but I guess I may give it a shot now.

Nice lens, i tried your ideas and it was delicious. Thank you.
  • CherylK May 19, 2009 @ 7:59 am | delete
Ham is easy to prepare but also easy to ruin if you don't do it right. This is a nice step-by-step guide and the glaze recipe is one I haven't used, before so will try it for sure.

I've heard that cute story about cutting off the end of the ham and it still brings a smile to my face. A good chuckle.
  • AndyPo May 8, 2009 @ 6:39 am | delete
This sounds wonderful. I must try this

I don't eat a lot of ham...but the ham I do eat (mainly on special occasions, like Easter) I do enjoy. I love the smell of hickory smoke in this lens. And I would be pleased to have you add my magnet to the mix if you wish. 5-starring, favoriting and lensrolling it to my Laftovers lens. I'm enjoying visiting all of your food lenses and rolling them all to Laftovers. Bookmarking you so I can continue visiting them tomorrow. Best, Tom (PS please feel free to add any of my magnets to any of your lenses if you think they fit in.)

Glazed baked ham is my husband's favorite. I think this year I will try pineapple-apricot preserves for a glaze, using your method. Another yummy lens!
