Glen Dhu Wind Park

Glen Dhu Wind Park recently is the largest wind farm in Nova Scotia located on Browns Mountain in Pictou County. It covers an area of about twenty four hundred hectares of privately owned woodlot properties from various local residents in the Lismore and Baileys Brook areas.

The 62.1 MW wind farm is fully operational, consisting of 27 wind turbines and produces enough power to run approximately 18,000 homes and a twenty year agreement with Nova Scotia Power. The wind farm also helps the local economy by providing additional income to land owners, it is expected that about $400,000 per year in royalties will be paid out, $8 million over the twenty year duration of the project.
