Glenn Beck Show

Glenn Beck Information

Glenn Beck hosts a daily radio show. For several years, he hosted a nightly television show, first on CNN Headline News, then on Fox News. He is also in the process of building a content empire. He has his own news site (The Blaze), writes books, and has even launched a deal-finding web site. His newest venture is GBTV, which launches on September 12, 2011. He is a force for conservatism in this world. Find out more about what his plans are here.

What's Next for Beck?

If you were a casual (or an everyday) viewer of Glenn Beck's show, then you know that he is no longer hosting his program on Fox News every day. His latest venture is online: Glenn Beck TV.

Instead of one hour of television programming a day, you can catch 2 hours of Glenn Beck per day. It will be broadcast over the internet, and you will have to be a subscriber to receive the daily programming.Glenn Beck Insider and Insider Extreme memberships were converted to GBTV and GBTV+ subscriptions (which seems to be simply a name change).

If you like Glenn Beck, the memberships are worth it. I started to subscribe as an Extreme member last spring, and I've given it a yearly renewal for 2011/12. The podcasts are great to listen to while watching the kids at gymnastics or cleaning, and the documentaries and Glenn Beck University are great too. While I try to be completely honest when I pitch products, I don't get a commission for this; I just think that it's a great product.

He has also started a deal web site at Markdown.com. I don't get a commission from that link either, although you can get a discount off the offers if you get friends to take the deal with you (but not through that link). So far, he's had bargains on chocolate, Lifelock, and a NASCAR experience.

How to Watch GBTV on TV

If you want to watch GBTV, you have a few choices:

  • You can watch it on your computer. If you're on this web site and you're not using an iPad or other mobile device, this is your option.
  • You can hook up a computer to your TV with an HDMI cable and watch it through your television. This is the cheapest option if you own a laptop and don't need the laptop while you are watching the show.
  • You can buy a Roku device.

Right now, this is a source of irritation for me at the moment. I write about GB; I'd like to watch his show every day, as I did when he was on television. I don't really want to sit at my computer watching video for two hours a day (I hate watching videos from my computer), because it's not very comfortable. I don't want to tie up my laptop because I generally take notes and do work (on my laptop) while watching Glenn Beck. I also think that $100 is a lot of money to spend for something that I will only use to watch one person's television show. Yes, I know that it also does Amazon and Hulu and all that... but I already have a Tivo that will do all of that, so it's not necessary except to watch Glenn Beck.

So maybe I'll end up getting one eventually, even though I really don't want to. I would be using it for two hours a day, even if it's only for one person's programming, and I could probably write it off as a business expense. If you have decided that you would like to get one, here are some of the Roku devices that are available for purchase:

Up Next for 2011: The E4 Project

Glenn Beck announced at his stage show in Wilmington, Ohio that in 2011, he was going to launch the E4 project. For 2010, his theme was Faith, Hope, and Charity, but he will build on that in 2011.

The four E's in the E4 Project stand for:

  1. Enlightenment
  2. Education
  3. Empowerment
  4. Entrepreneurship
In 2010, Glenn Beck gave us some of the enlightenment and empowerment. He gave us the tools to learn more about American History and Christian leaders like George Whitefield. In 2011, he will help us build on that. If what he has in mind for empowerment and entrepreneurship changes our country like he has changed Americans in terms of enlightenment and education in 2010, then the US will see some positive changes in 2011, even as the negative changes from government will also be affecting us.

What Does Glenn Beck Have on George Soros?

Sebastian DerungsGlenn Beck spent quite a few episodes in late 2010 talking about George Soros. Soros has helped collapse four economies, and he's working out collapsing the United States' economy as well. The question is, are we going to let him?

Is Soros the king of the world, or does he just think it? He certainly has quite a bit of power over the president. When he suggests something, his minions seem to follow. He is a major donor to the Tides foundation, which just happens to make suggestions that president Obama and his administration seem to follow.

40 Days and 40 Nights

On July 19th 2010, Beck started counting down the 40 days and 40 nights until the 8/28 event. He is asking you to help him get ready. Whether or not you will be able to attend the event, we can all benefit from what he is asking us to do:

Faith: pray on your knees at least once a day. Pray for our country, pray for your family... pray for safety and peace. Whatever you pray for, if it's something good, pray for it.
Hope: you can't have hope without truth. Make a promise to yourself to always be truthful for the next 40 days (even "does this dress make me look fat?" ~ please don't ask that question). Be honest even with yourself.
Charity: do one good thing for all of your family members at least once a week.

On Day 39, Beck wrote this:

  • There is no peace without hope.
  • There is no hope without liberty.
  • There is no liberty without integrity.
  • There is no integrity without virtue.
  • There is no virtue without enlightenment.
  • There is no enlightenment without TRUTH.
  • .

Glenn Beck renewed his challenge at the 8/28 event. If you haven't taken the 40 day and 40 night challenge, he hopes that you will. You'll probably want to extend it beyond 40 days. So far, it has changed people's lives for the better.

Is Glenn Beck Suffering from Aspartame Poisoning?

Soda photo by imacgooroo.Earlier this year, Glenn Beck announced that he was having problems with his eyesight. Recently, he has also started to complain about numbness in his hands that is spreading up his arms. He went to a specialized doctor across the country for tests.

Although Pat Gray dismissed the idea that he might have the "Rumsfeld Plague", or aspartame poisoning, the truth is that aspartame poisoning is very real. There are over 92 symptoms of aspartame poisoning, including the ones that Beck has publicly admitted to (this includes his difficulty with losing weight despite trying hard). We all know that he drinks soda; recently, he mentioned that he drank Coke Zero, which contains aspartame.

As someone that has recovered from aspartame poisoning, when Pat made an offhanded comment about aspartame, it made a lot of sense to me. I have written more about Glenn Beck's potential aspartame problem on Associated Content.

Principals and Values

Glenn Beck's 9-12 Project

9 Principals

  1. America is good.

  2. I believe in God and he is the center of my life.

  3. I must always try to be a more honest person today than I was yesterday.

  4. The family is sacred. My spouse and I are the ultimate authority, not the government.

  5. If you break the law you pay the penalty. Justice is blind and no one is above it.

  6. I have a right to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness, but there is no guarantee of equal results.

  7. I work hard for what I have and I will share it with who I want to. Government cannot force me to be charitable.

  8. It is not un-American for me to disagree with authority or to share my personal opinion.

  9. The government works for me. I do not answer to them, they answer to me.

12 Values

  • Honesty
  • Reverence
  • Hope
  • Thrift
  • Humility
  • Charity
  • Sincerity
  • Moderation
  • Hard Work
  • Courage
  • Personal Responsibility
  • Gratitude

New Year, New Show

biewoef Glenn Beck is changing the focus of his show for the new year. Part of the new focus involves reviewing what happened in the past. He has been focusing on our founders. Every Friday, he has "Founder's Fridays". If you are a member of Insider Extreme, you can view short documentaries that he makes, with information on Woodrow Wilson, Progressives, and more.

Although Beck is focusing on the history of how we got to where we are today, he continues to bring up the news, and relates it to the history of a certain idea.

He also wants his viewers to focus on things like Faith, Hope, and Charity. We could all become better people. As the world becomes more dangerous, it's important that we become people that are virtuous, and that we are upright and moral, so that we will have God on our side.

Know Your History

With the new turn the Glenn Beck show has taken, he is encouraging us all to read more. The list of books that he has recommended is too long to post here, but you can find out more about Glenn Beck's Book Recommendations at my other page.

I'm personally excited about the release of the new book. I can't tell you how good it is yet, because it is not out yet.

Health Care Rationing Has Already Been Passed

The Federal stimulus package allowed funding for the Federal Coordinating Council for Competitive Effectiveness Research. This is essentially a rationing board. This board will direct doctors to "guide medical decisions at the time and place of care." It will tell doctors what steps they have to take in the event that a patient has a specific illness. There won't be any leeway or choices available to the patients and the doctors.

This is a great book! Although it did take a while to read, it was enjoyable, with a lot of funny moments. If you watch Glenn Beck regularly, there isn't a lot of new information (although I did learn something). The main benefit that you can get out of this book, if you watch Glenn Beck regularly, is that it compiles all of the major topics that people need to know into one book. A whole chapter in the back gives you references, so you can look up the information for yourself.

Attacks on Free Speech

Is the government attacking your freedom of speech? Decide for yourself:

  1. Education: "Mmm Mmm Mmm... Barack Hussein Obama." Do people wonder why homeschooling is becoming so popular? The "Story of Stuff" is teaching children that capitalism is evil, and tells the kids that the government is there to take care of them (umm... no). Kids are being taught that cross-dressing is okay, but teachers are spending less time on... math.
  2. Art: The government is pushing artists to create propaganda for the government. Oh goody. Didn't Hitler do that?
  3. Movies: Some movies, like The Day After Tomorrow, talk about climate change in their plots.
  4. Television: TV programs are pushing "service week" (comics are doing that as well). Do we wonder why network television is less popular than it used to be?
  5. Newspapers: Most of the newspapers are going under, in part because users don't find them to be trustworthy any more. Many push the progressive agenda. The government is proposing a newspaper bailout (of course, that won't make them beholden to the government, right?)
  6. Internet: Right now, I, or Glenn Beck, or anybody else, can say whatever we want over the internet. Net neutrality, which is coming up in congress (again) this week, threatens that freedom.
  7. Talk Radio: The government is trying to change this. "The Fairness Doctrine is not enough... we are in a position where .... you have to say who is going to step down so someone else can have power" - Mark Lloyd.
  8. Fox News: "It's really not news... it's pushing a point of view..."
  9. The Right to Assemble: Nancy Pelosi remembers in the 1970s all of that violent rhetoric that frightened her... just like the big bad tea party people do today. Janeane Garofao thinks that the tea party movement is all about hating the black president and racism... they're nothing but "tea bagging rednecks" (so does that mean that my black husband hates himself?)

Net Neutrality - gives government control and regulation over the Internet. "I will take a back seat to no one in my commitment to net neutrality" ~ Barack Obama. "It does no good to win on net neutrality if net neutrality winds up having a neutral impact on the American people. I would argue that fighting not just at the FCC as important as that is but fighting to make sure that every local city and municipality is making free broadband available to everybody has to be number one on our agenda." ~ Van Jones. Net Neutrality has several components:

  • Access - everybody has access to broadband: social justice for the internet. If you can't afford it, the government will subsidize it for you. Did the government give out free radios, televisions, or cable TV to people in the past?
  • Social Justice - net neutrality can help take out capitalism, brick by brick.
  • Controlling Content - in the short term, the internet will take longer to work. In the long-term, businesses will invest less in the internet, and the government will eventually control everything. "Unfortunately, the powerful cable and telecom industry doesn't value the internet for its public interest benefits. Instead, these companies too often believe that to safeguard their profits they must control what content you see and how you get it. Their plans could have dire consequences for those whose voices are often marginalized by our nation's media system." ~ Mark Lloyd. Do you trust him instead? If you don't know, you can read more about Mark Lloyd at my page on Obama's radical advisors. I don't know about anybody else, but I haven't had difficulty speaking my mind on the Internet, and I'm just a normal person.

Samuel Adams

"It is high time for the country explicitly to declare, whether they will be freemen or slaves? It is an important question which ought to be decided. It concerns us more than anything in this life. The salvation of our souls is interested in the event. For wherever tyranny is establish'd, immorality of every kind comes in like a torrent. It is in the interest of tyrants to reduce the people to ignorance and vice. For they cannot live in any country where virtue and knowledge prevail. The religion and public liberty of a people are intimately connected; their interest are interwoven, they cannot subsist separately; and therefore they rise and fall together. For this reason, it is always observable, that those who are combined to destroy the people's liberties, practice every art to poison their morals. How greatly then does it concern us, at all events, to put a stop to the progress of tyranny."

~ Samuel Adams, October 1772

Illegal Aliens and Slavery

The fight over illegal immigration has a lot of similarities to the fight over slavery.

- Slave owners argued that "the economy will be ruined if slavery is ended!" Businesses that employ illegal aliens say that "the economy will be ruined if we don't have illegals helping us out!"

- Slave owners were able to treat their slaves poorly, because the slaves had no rights; they couldn't speak up if they were treated poorly. Illegal immigrants are often treated poorly; they sometimes work under unsafe conditions and are often paid less than minimum wage, yet they can't speak up, because they have no rights.

When the authors of the Constitution decided how to count people for the census, the slave owners wanted slaves to be counted as a full person, so they could have full representation (even though the slaves couldn't vote). The anti-slavery population didn't want the slaves to be counted at all, because counting them would give more political power to the south, which would make eliminating slavery more difficult. The Unions today want to count the illegal aliens in the census (even though the illegals can't vote) because the areas that attract illegals will have more representation, and it will be more difficult to reduce illegal immigration. The anti-illegal immigration people don't want the illegal immigrants to be counted.

Break it Apart

Doing the Jobs our Elected Officials Won't

Constitution Day Montage

Do you really want to help America? Join Break it Apart, and do the jobs that our legislators won't do. While it isn't true that there are jobs Americans won't do (only businesses that aren't willing to hire Americans at the proper wage), it is true that many (most) of our elected officials aren't reading the bills. However, if we get together, and each take a page out of each bill and read it, then we can find the unsavory parts of the bills. Things like... anybody that doesn't have private health care when the health care law goes into effect will be forced into the public option forever, whether they like it or not.

So join, take one page, and read it. Help your country!

US vs. 1980s Soviet Union

The Soviet Union fell towards the end of the 1980s/early 1990s. I remember at the time, I was taking a Russian class, and the ruble was in freefall.

The Soviet Union used to be one of the most powerful countries in the world. Nobody would have ever thought that they would ever fall, just like nobody thinks that anything could happen to America, because "this is America". They were taken down by a few factors. We may be familiar with some of these:

Spending - The Russians were spending too much. Reagan was bluffing with his Star Wars program, and the Soviet Union printed rubles like there was no tomorrow so that they could keep up in the arms race.

Seeds of Discontent - The people inside the country were fighting each other.

Osama bin Laden - The Russians were fighting a long war in Afghanistan.

Price of Oil - The price of oil was too high.

Today, our country is spending too much on government programs, from bailouts to even entitlement programs. The political parties are polarized, and are getting people to have uncivilized conversations with each other. Osama bin Laden is still on the scene, and we are fighting in Afghanistan now (and not winning). The price of oil could be a factor as well. The Saudi Arabians have supposedly been talking about removing the dollar peg to oil, and changing it to other currencies. At the same time, cap and trade laws that our own government is suggesting will cause oil prices to skyrocket, even if there isn't any other problems that would make oil prices go up (Israel attacking Iran?).

In the Soviet Union, the Soviet model was transformed almost overnight. Will that happen to us as well?

Free Press

Free Press was founded by Robert McChesney, a friend of Van Jones and Mark Lloyd.

Robert McChesney was the former editor of Monthly Review, which is one of the most important Marxist publications in the world. He is a supporter of Hugo Chavez, and believed that media outlets that criticized him should be arrested for treason.

He has said:

"Any serious effort to reform the media system would have to necessarily be part of a revolutionary program to overthrow the capitalist system itself."

"There is no real answer but to remove, brick by brick, the capitalist system itself, rebuilding the entire society on socialist principles."

"We need to do whatever we can to limit capitalist propaganda, regulate it, minimize it, and perhaps even eliminate it."

"The fight against hyper-commercialism becomes especially pronounced in the era of digital communications."

Free Press helped Obama develop his technology policies (oh goody!). They are meeting with the FCC to discuss new regulations.

Free Press co-authored The Structural Imbalance of Talk Radio, that asks the government to remedy the problem of talk radio by making broadcasters who don't follow the rules pay a fee in order to subsidize public broadcasting.

The First Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving and PrayerThanksgiving began on Clark's Island, about 20 miles away from Plymouth Rock. Nine pilgrims were scouting the Massachusettes coastline for a place to settle. They had barely survived a fight with the Indians. They went to search for food, then realized that it was the Sabbath, so they rested and gave thanks. They had been delivered from the tyrranny of the king, from the Indians, and from the storms.

The Massachusetts Constitution of 1780, article 2, says that it is the right and duty of all men in society to worship the creator.

When Israel fled from Egypt, they had freedom. When they left, they had freedom. When they left, they went to Mount Sinai, where God gave them the 10 Commandments. The Israelites were tested. To have freedom, people had to be a moral people, and follow God's laws.

Where is America today? America is quick to throw out God's laws. Will bondage soon follow?

At the top of the Washington Monument it says "Laus Deo", which means "praise be to God." A Bible was placed in the cornerstone.

Jefferson and Benjamin Franklin originally wanted the seal of the United States to have a picture of an Egyptian chariot, a pillar of fire, the divided Red Sea, and Moses.

Iceland and McDonald's

Will it Happen to Us?

Glenn Beck brought up that Iceland's McDonald's had to shut down. They couldn't afford to pay for the packaging, meat, and cheese necessary to run the restaurants. The country had a great economy a couple of years ago. Their energy was going well, they had to import workers from Poland. They went to a 10% unemployment rate, and their stocks lost about 70% of their value almost overnight.

In January, their government was having a lot of trouble, and after weeks and weeks of protests, they ended up having new elections. I wrote about Iceland's political and economic situation back in January, if you'd like to read more.

Do you want your country to be overrun by progressives, socialists, radicals, and communists? There are things that you can do:

Do not fear. No matter what names they call you, don't be intimidated.

Ask the politicians if they are in or out for 2010
  • Do they believe in a balanced budget and support a spending freeze until the budget is balanced?
  • Do they support not raising taxes until the economy recovers?
  • Do they support immediately using all natural resources to free ourselves from dependence on foreign oil?
  • Do they support closing the border? Do they oppose anybody asserting sovereignty over US citizens (including the UN and czars)
  • Do they believe that America is great?

Your argument about illegal aliens and slavery is laughable and betrays you. Glen Beck makes this argument and is incredibly ignorant of the facts or withholds the facts to make this silly argument. Shall we have modern day slaves rescued from the sex slave industry speak out about how this Glen Beck argument is void of reason?
