Global American works with a variety of manufacturers to provide you with more options than you are used to. And our award-winning engineers make sure you get exactly what you need, even when others say "it can't be done..".
Anyone who is involved with industrial computing, especially those who purchase hardware, knows that the industry relies almost completely on doing business with Taiwan in some fashion.

The high cost of having products shipped from Taiwan is just part of the problem.
Here's a partial list:

Can you imagine buying a car with this laundry list of problems? So why keep buying from Taiwan? Low prices, of course.

Now, more than ever, it's all about the bottom line. Buyers simply have to find the lowest price for the hardware they need. And one of the worst things about this economy is that we are starting to see companies ignoring their long-term infrastructure plans.
Sure, it's hard to plan ahead when your not even sure the company is going to exist in a year. But this is a dangerous path. If we patch our way through this downturn, we're going to have an even bigger hole to climb out of when everything fails just as we are getting back on track.

What is the solution?

There are a lot of companies in the U.S. that import hardware from overseas, mark them up and resell them. What's good about this? Well, you can buy a Commell/Comate motherboard from an American company who may have it in stock. That will save you shipping costs. But can a reseller answer your questions before you buy? Will they direct you to overseas support? And the manual that comes with it? Yeah, it's that same broken english translation straight from the manufacturer. And what about repairs? Do they handle RMAs here in the U.S., or ship it back to Taiwan for repair? How long is THAT going to take?!? And what if you want an IEI mini-itx board with an Arbor backplane in a Joyance chassis? Most resellers only deal with one or a few select vendors.

Global American has been addressing these issues and more for over 19 years.

We are an integrator of industrial computer components from a wide range of manufacturers. Located in Hudson, New Hampshire, we are staffed with the finest engineers and technician in the business. We test every board before shipping, and handle RMA repairs right here. Our engineers work with the manufacturers to suggest improvements and address issues while the hardware is still in development. Our techs scan the original manuals for mistakes, typos, and poor translations, making vast improvements over the original documentation. This alone can save you lots of time and frustration.

Our goal is to meet the needs of our customers, not to simply provide products. That may sound cliche, but we truly feel it is more important to provide solutions than to sell products. Industrial computing needs are so vast and varied, that no single approach will cover all the bases. By spending time with each of our clients, Global American is able to meet the changing demands of the marketplace. This does not mean we abandon our legacy products for trends. We will continue to support legacy hardware to ensure you get the most out of your existing systems. And we will be here with the latest technology when you are ready to upgrade.
