What is VOIP and is it here to stay or just a fad?

Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), is a technology that allows you to make voice calls using a broadband Internet connection instead of a regular (or analog) phone line. Some VoIP services may only allow you to call other people using the same service, but others may allow you to call anyone who has a telephone number - including local, long distance, mobile, and international numbers. Also, while some VoIP services only work over your computer or a special VoIP phone, other services allow you to use a traditional phone connected to a VoIP adapter. Other terms frequently encountered and synonymous with VoIP are IP telephony, Internet telephony, voice over broadband (VoBB), broadband telephony, and broadband phone.

VoIP systems usually interface with the traditional public switched telephone network (PSTN) to allow for transparent phone communications worldwide.

These services are much less expensive than traditional landline phone services and cost between $20 and $30 per month. Companies such as 5linx, Vonage, AT&T, and Verizon are paving the way with this new technology. These companies has something else in common, they are all using old traditional marketing and network marketing systems. AT&T and Verizon has acknowledge this weakness by dropping this service because of the competitive edge of other companies. They are starting to mimic the cable companies,by bundling the voice service with TV and broadband. However they have just put a band aide to the problem instead of finding the true solution to the problem, which is a whole new way of looking at marketing. Yes marketing, the true solution to staying competitive in a evolving market is to change the way we view marketing. There is no doubt VOIP is here to stay and is not a fad. This service will dramatically change the way we communicate and make the world much smaller.

Why should telecommunications Companies use new network marketing system vs. the old traditional model?

Telecommunications companies as well as others in major corporations, has fail to keep pace with changing marketing system. I myself, which is currently in the telecommunication industry also made the same drastic mistake by following what I learn in business school. After being introduced to Renegade Network Marketer Mike Klingler and Ann Sieg's Renegade University. It completely change the way I view the old traditional way of marketing.
