Glow in the Dark Activities

There are a number of activities that you can do for a Glow in the Dark party. Just use your imagination. The list below will help spark up some ideas.
  1. Fashion Show - Tell everyone to dress up as much as they can, with white and neon close and fun accessories and then have a fashion show.
  2. Dance - Music, music, music. You can also rent a glow dance floor and fog machine.
  3. Any ball games using glowing balls and equipment! Basketball, baseball, volleyball, miniature golf.
  4. Girls can paint nails using glow in the dark nail polish and boys can put on glow in the dark tattoos.
  5. Painting with glow in the dark paints and then a contest with prizes for the best one.
  6. Have a professional face painting artist that specializes in glow in the dark paint.
  7. Paintball with glow in the dark paintballs
  8. White Board - A white board is great for people to sign their names. You can also use a large piece of cardboard to make it a keepsake. Use neon markers to make them stand out in the dark.
  9. Pictionary - Using the white board idea or a large canvas paper board, where people can change the paper, use bright neon colors to play pictionary in the dark. The white background will make it pop and the neon markers will be crazy fun. Great for all ages!
  10. Glow Stick Finders Keepers Reserve one color of glow sticks to hide around the area and have your guests find them. Whoever gets the most wins a prize.
  11. Pop the Balloons Using White or Neon balloons put them on the floor and have everyone try to pop them by sitting on them. You can put prizes in the balloons so when a balloon is popped they get the prize. Or even set a time limit for when they have to pop them and then countdown really loud "5,4,3,2,1". If they get them all popped then everyone is rewarded an extra glowstick or necklace. Please make sure children too young do not do this - And to pick up the balloon pieces afterward.
  12. Balloon Clues You can have dozens and dozens of white and neon balloons with clues written on some of them in black marker. For instance, you can have the clues "18 years old", "From Canada", "Trendy Hair", "Pop Music", "Teen Sensation". The Answer would be Justin Bieber. Whoever figures out the clues gets the prize. You can have multiple clues on balloons and mix them up through the area. Have a voting booth and people and stop by the voting booth and put their answers in. Obviously, the more clues they solve the more ballots they put in and they have a higher chance on winning at the end of the night.
  13. White Shirts - Have everyone wear old white shirts, or you can give out shirts as people come in and then throughout the night people can write on each others shirts - super fun and interactive.
  14. Mummy Break everyone into two teams and pick to people - one of them being the birthday boy/girl. Set a time limit - a couple of minutes - and on the word "Go" have each team wrap the person into a mummy with toilet paper. And then after the toilet paper have them top them off with 5 glow necklaces and whichever team finishes first wins.

You can decorate as much as you like with a Glow in the Dark party. Going overboard makes it look fun.

5. White, White, White! Anything White!!

I can't stress how great it is to have a lot of white decorations at a Glow in the Dark party. Use regular decorations except get them in white. White Balloons, Streamers, Confetti. The confetti can be made out of torn pieces of paper. Just make sure that you have lots of blacklights around so that the white will really pop.

Glow in the Dark Cake Frosting

Okay. I had to research this one. It seems that no actual frosting that glows in the dark exists that is actually edible. But there are a few choices that can make it glow under a black light.

1. White or Neon frosting. Simple enough. Anything bright white or neon glows great under a black light. Place a black light over the cake in question and you're set!

2. Tonic Water mixed with Clear Piping Gel & green coloring I found this thread on a cake forum that talks about how it was done and a picture of it as well. Very fun and creative.

3. Instead of the icing being glow in the dark, maybe just top the cake with glow in the dark objects.

What to Wear to a Glow in the Dark Party

Anything white, bright or neon!!

1. Anything white, bright or neon will make you glow in the dark. You can also make it fun by wearing black and white stripes, or some sort of black patterned outfit, so only the white parts will glow.

2. Glow in the Dark Sunglasses, Glow necklaces and bracelets if they aren't provided at the party.

3. Glow body paint, fingernail polish and makeup - again, if they aren't provided.

4. Make sure you know find out if there is a dress code before you go. The host might want you to wear something specific.

Make the Glow in the Dark Party a Safe Environment

1. Open space - Don't have anything out in the middle of the floor that people can trip over. Move all furniture against the wall or to another room. Use Glow in the Dark markers to make signs that alert people not to cross or get near in the dark.

2. Supervision - Always have adult supervision at all times. If you don't have enough adults, you can always put on the invitations that if a parent wants to help supervise to let you know.

3. First Aid Kit - Have a First Aid Kit handy just in case someone does trip in the dark or hurt themselves another way.
