How do glow necklaces work?
Glow necklace is a kind of glowstick...
Glow necklaces are essentially 22-inch long glowsticks with diameters of 5 or 6 mm wide. After being activated, two ends of the glowing sticks can be connected with plastic connectors to form a loop to create glow necklaces. The diameter of the loop is about 7-inch, large enough to fit on everybody's neck. Or you can wear glow necklaces as head ribbons. Glow necklaces have been party favors at birthday parties, Mardi Gras, July 4th fireworks, proms, Halloweens, or any glow in the dark office parties, etc.
Glow Necklaces Colors
Glow necklaces are typically packed (50) pieces in a tube. There are (3) styles of color for glow necklaces. The first is a solid color, or uni-color, meaning all (50) necklaces in a tube have the same solid color. And the solid color comes in (8) choices: red, pink, green, yellow, orange, blue, purple and white. The second style is Assorted Color, which means an assortment of colors is packed in tube of (50), for example, you could have (5) solid colors in a tube with each color (10) pieces, making up (50) piece tubes. The third is a Tri-Color glow necklace. That is on each glow necklace, there are (3) color segments. The typical tri-color combinations are red-green-blue and green-yellow-pink. Noticing green is the only color in both combinations because green is the brightest. Another popular tri-color is red-white-blue, the patriotic color, extremely popular at 4th of July celebrations.
Which Glow Necklaces are Brighter? Tri-Color or Assorted Color?
They are fairly close in terms of brightness. But to be more accurate, let us first look at how tri-color glow necklaces are made. We know there are (3) color segments on a tri-color glow necklace. Noticing before or after activating glow necklaces, the (3) colors never get mixed. They stay where they are on the necklace. That's because small cottons have been used to separate the (3) colors from each other, and that's why you will see typically (2) dots on the tri-color necklaces, where the separating cottons are. As to assorted color (or solid color), it's one continuous glow, no cottons used. That's why tri-color glow necklaces are slightly less brighter than assorted color ones. Packaging of glow necklaces
Glow necklaces are mostly bulk packed, at 50 pieces per tube. The reason for that is to prevent accidental activating during handling and transit. Glow necklaces are very fragile products. Being 22 inch long and 6mm dia, they are easily activated. Wrapped with bubble sheets and packed in cardboard tubes, they are protected from accidental activation. They do have retail packed glow necklaces, typically available at Wal-Mart, Target and Dollar stores. These are typically 2 or 3 necklaces per bag. Compared with bulk packed, the retail ones are a lot more expensive.
