The Real Benefits of Glutamine
Glutamine is a supplement that many people go without. Jokes on them though, because glutamine has a whole host of benefits that will give you the edge over other unsuspecting gym-goers. Glutamine actually helps your body retain its muscle mass and hydration level. Also, studies have shown that consuming 2 grams of glutamine per day can help increase growth hormone production by up to 400%.
The importance of Glutamine
If you have been working out in gyms or in your home regularly, you probably have heard about glutamine. For those who are just starting out, you probably don't have any idea what it is and why it's important, just like me when I was starting out. I'd be glad to help you on this. Knowing about glutamine is very important especially for those who want to get in shape the right way. What is Glutamine and How Important Is It? Glutamine Benefits
Glutamine is the most common amino acid in your muscles. It comprises about 60% of your skeletal muscles, or the muscles that you work out in the gym. This amino acid is mostly made up of nitrogen, which makes it a very effective nitrogen carrier to your muscle cells. Nitrogen is necessary for the growth of your muscle cells.
Every time you work out, you decrease the glutamine levels in your muscles. This in turn results in a decrease in stamina, strength, and recovery. This problem can be prevented or minimized by increasing the glutamine level in your body.
Glutamine Benefits
Among the many benefits of glutamine include aiding in protein synthesis within your body, increasing your cell volumes, and preventing your muscles from reaching a catabolic state, a state where your muscles break down. Another important benefit of glutamine is its ability to help your body secrete Human Growth Hormone (HGH), which is important for people who want to shape up. With HGH, your body effectively metabolizes fat and builds new muscles.
All these benefits make glutamine a very important part of the getting in shape process. While you are in the process of losing those unwanted pounds, you should also maintain as much muscle as possible. It would be nice to work out to achieve two things: lose unwanted body fats and gain muscles.
