One of the best and most effective ways to go green is by making eco friendly adjustments to your home. It doesn't have to be anything drastic, but every little change makes a difference. Save Energy and Save Money with an Eco Friendly Home
A common problem that people face when deciding whether or not to go green is the feeling of discouragement. We often hear about Al Gore and Ed Begley and all of the eco friendly changes they have made, and it can be pretty overwhelming because we don't all have the kind of money that they do. The good news is that you don't have to install solar panels in your entire home in order to go green. Even a few changes will make a tremendous difference. An excellent eco friendly home improvement suggestion is to use organic products and renewable energy whenever possible. For example, you can use natural cleaning products, tote bags instead of plastic bags for groceries, energy saving light bulbs, the list goes on and on.
Another great resource for eco friendly home improvements is Energy Star because they create appliances and other products that are energy efficient. Because Energy Star products use alternative energy, they end up saving you tons of money because we all know that electricity and gas aren't exactly free.
Perhaps the simplest and best advice that I can give about going green in your home is just to generally reduce the amount of waste that is being produced. This can be achieved by recycling more often, turning off and unplugging unused electronics, reusing scrap paper, etc. The thing to keep in mind is that the less you waste, the more energy you save. And we all know that energy saved is money saved.

Go Green by Planting a Garden
Everyday we wake up in the morning and hear different stories in the news about the crisis facing our environment, and how it's time to start changing our ways for the better. The best way to create a positive impact on the planet is by becoming more Eco friendly and energy efficient. Gardening is an excellent way to do accomplish this goal.Gardening is simple, fun, and there are many different ways to express yourself and be creative. A great Eco friendly idea is to plant flowers and plants that are native to the area in which you live. By planting something that is already acclimated to the soil and weather conditions, you become more likely to have successfully blooming plants with little or no extra work.
You can also go green in your garden by staying away from pesticides and other chemicals that are commonly used to kill pests. Pesticides cause a negative impact on the environment because they release toxins into the atmosphere that lead to global warming and the greenhouse effect. Not to mention, they can also be detrimental to the wildlife in your area that aren't even the target because when rainwater hits the chemical, it soaks into the soil and the ground water around your home becomes tainted.
When mowing the lawn, it is more Eco friendly to mow high (at least 3 inches off the ground) and leave the clippings behind. This is because mowing a bit higher than usual actually makes the grass grow back in healthier and more plush manner. The effect is similar to having the split ends cut off your hair in order to make it grown better and faster. Leaving the loose clippings behind is also beneficial because they function as a fertilizer that will improve the quality of your lawn.

- For years I've been moving more and more toward a greener lifestyle. Granted you go through ups and downs as you go through life, but the periods of pulling away from greening aren't as great as the periods of delving more into a greener life. Through it all, I have learned that the more green a person wants to be the more money would be saved. It really does pay off.

- I'm really enjoying the theme/design of your weblog. Do you ever run into any browser compatibility problems? A small number of my blog audience have complained about my site not operating correctly in Explorer but looks great in Chrome. Do you have any ideas to help fix this problem?

- When working on the home improvement, it's definitely worth considering skip hire services. Mainly because most of the waste is recycled rather than thrown away.

- I want to have green roofing someday. As of now, I'm doing a good plan for making our roof look like a garden. Our roof is eco-friendly, so I'm not worried much if summer comes. In Miami, roofing which are eco-friendly are easy to find because most roofing companies in Miami have these.

- Don't forget about clean up. It might be a good idea to contact someone about dumpster rentals and see if you can't find someone who properly disposes of the waste you produce from the remodeling.

- Every little helps. Not only can you do things like solar roofs, and have eco friendly building materials but even your driveway can be more environmentally friendly. Its not better than having grass of course, but if you have a driveway this is a way to make it more eco friendly. Also, its not typically what people think of when they think about being more eco friendly with their home. With stamping your asphalt driveway and using StreetBond coating, it actually reduces Island Heat Effect. Which is getting worse and worse with all the construction in cities and the temperature rise. Also the coating contributes to LEED credits. All the products are water based and non toxic. So no chemical run off like so many other chemicals do. For saving money, you actually never need to reseal it ever again, and with the right foundation and coating it lasts almost twice as long as a regular asphalt driveway. Just a another way to help the environment.
