Going Green

Ranked #8,095 in Healthy Living, #136,252 overall

Going green one person at a time:

Your going green can make a huge difference to the environment. Reducing the effect that we have on our environment starts with just one person, and then one more person after that, and than one more, and one more.

One person joining with another till there are ten individuals who are living green. One more person choosing to go green till there are a hundred, and then a hundred thousand individuals, then a million people, and then a billion people all with the same goal in mind. All working together to do what is best for our environment.

One person at a time joining those many others already in the fight to save our environment. All of us caring enough to work together to give a better world to the children who will come to play here tomorrow. We can accomplish this. It isn't hard. It just takes one more person.

The environment needs just one more person to take a minute to turn the temperature down on their heater or hot water tank, to shut the lights off when they leave a room or to reduce the lighting that they use when they are in that room. It is amazing the difference that just one more person can make when they choose to shut off the computer, or television, and to go outside to play a game of catch with their kids instead of staying indoors.

The impact that just one person has when they choose not to use the air conditioner on a hot day until it is an absolute necessity can be astounding. All those little tiny choices that each and every one of us make every day are just so very important. All those many choices that we make throughout our day that we may not even realize make a difference, but when we take that extra minute or two that it takes to change the world, we really truly do make a difference.

You can make a difference

Recycle your milk jugs, pop bottles, and other metal, cardboard, paper and plastic waste.

Each time one additional person recycles a milk jug rather than throwing it into the garbage can, or a family decides to compost their vegetable waste into their garden area to improve the quality of their soil, or a parent teaches their child to recycle pop bottles so that he or she might have a little spare pocket change. Each time a company's head office decides to go green something wonderful happens. A tremendous positive impact on the environment is occurring.

A little less green house gas is being produced, a little less space is being used up by a landfill, and a little less ozone is depleting from our atmosphere. Whenever a little less land and air is being harmed by human created pollution and the effects of all the little acts are added together it amounts to a large difference to our environment. A huge difference in the amount of waste created and a tremendous difference in the amount of air and land pollution that is occurring from the accumulation of that waste.

How To Reduce Green House Gases....

If just one more person takes the time to remove their old Christmas lighting this year and puts up LED lights instead.

LED bulbs can increase energy efficiency to such a degree that by switching to these tiny miracle bulbs that person can save up to 80% on their holiday electrical consumption.

If just one more person chooses to replace the burned out light bulbs in their home with new energy efficient CFL's, these bulbs use one third the electricity of standard bulbs and last up to ten times longer. So although at first glance these light bulb choices may seem more expensive, in the long run they actually save money, and reduce the impact to our environment caused by the production of electricity.

It just takes one more person to make the decision to car pool to work, or to shut off their vehicle while they run into a store, and this one person will stop unnecessary vehicle emissions from going into the atmosphere. It takes just one person to plant a tree instead of cutting one down to start repairing this same atmosphere.

If takes just one more person who chooses to recycle their pop bottles, plastics, cardboards and glass to reduce the amount of waste filling our dumps. One more person to compost their vegetable waste instead of adding it into an already overflowing landfill and that one person can begin to reduce the harmful effects that those same landfills have on our environment.

Did you know that the average family throws away approximately 200 pounds of vegetable waste each year, and that 23% of all landfill composition is made up of household yard and garden waste that doesn't need to be there, it could have been recycled.

We Can Reverse The Damage We Have Done In The Past....

One person alone may not seem to make a large difference, but each person who joins the ever increasing ranks of those who "Go Green", does serve to make an amazing impact on the environment. As a group we are making a tremendous difference to the health of our environment!

It is currently very popular to "Go Green" and schools, churches and businesses are jumping on the band wagon. Awareness for the environment is at an all time high. Individuals who were raised in a "disposable era" are now learning to conserve energy, to compost and to recycle. They are quickly discovering how truly important to the world that they live in, the little changes that they make to their way of day to day living, can be.

They are learning to leave as few environmental footprints on the earth as they are able to, and best of all, they are passing this information along to their children. There is a wave of environmental consciousness being created that will stretch far beyond today into tomorrow's generations. Future generations of children raised to recycle and compost their waste will pass this information on to their children, and those in turn, will pass the information on to their children.

Businesses that participate in recycling programs will rarely cancel such programs, and these environmentally friendly companies will continue to "Go Green" for generally as long as the life of the company continues encouraging other businesses to follow suit.

Global Warming Is Real.....

Global warming is here, the news casts showing its disastrous effects are getting scarier each day, and it is no longer possible to deny its existence. It is real! It is a part of our world, and we are the only ones who can slow down its process. Each and every person counts when it comes to fighting global warming. Don't ever think that you can't be that one person who can make a difference, because you are that person, and you can have a tremendous impact on climate change and all the elements that go into creating it.

It is so easy for just one person to make a tremendous impact.

It just takes one more person.

You can make a difference.
