Go Hawaii Cards Review from a Hawaii Travel Expert

Ever heard of the go hawaii cards? There are used to be two - but the go maui card is no longer offered. The go oahu card is what's available now. Here, I talk a it and point you to my specific review

My review summary is: the GO OAHU card is easy to use and will save active travelers money. It is also a fantastic gift for honeymooners and young travelers.

Oh, and now there is a custom oahu explorer pass for Oahu. This card will let you prepick your activities instead of you doing everything you can in a certain number of days.

The Go Oahu Card

On the go oahu card website, they claim the go oahu card can save up to 55% on activities on your Oahu vacation by using the card.

I believe this is a valid number, because I have actually done the math on what a go oahu card could save a family of four, and I got a savings of about 25%.

I bought the go oahu card and used it. It came quickly and was easy to use. I just showed up at the activity, showed my card, and they let me in or on.

Some available attractions with the card are (check the go oahu card website for the most current list)

  • Grand Circle Island Tour
  • Pearl Harbor & Honolulu City Tour
  • Polynesian Cultural Center (Bonus Choice with 3, 5, and 7 Day Cards)
  • Germaines Luau (Bonus Choice with 3, 5, and 7 Day Cards)

    How The Cards Work

Order your cards, each family member gets their own card. If you order a three day card, then for three days, you can do any activity that is included with the card and it's free. Just show your card, they swipe it, and you get in free. You can do as many activities as you can fit into one day.

    My Go Hawaii Card Review

What I really think of the Go Hawaii Cards

I think these cards are a good deal ONLY for very active people. If you will only do one activity a day and the rest of the day you will lounge on the beach, then I do not beleve these cards are a good buy for you.

However, If you will do two or more activities a day, and hit the trolley or a equipment rental or rent a car also, then these cards absolutely can save you significant money. I did the math.

These cards also are wonderful gifts for honeymooners or young people hitting hawaii, and very smart for a budget conscious family or single wanting to only spend a set amount in Hawaii.

This sounds very similar to a pass program they have in Paris. Can be a great savings if you want to see lots of attractions. Personally, I'd probably lay on the beach and do absolutely nothing!
